Swift Lodge is a light, bright and welcoming retreat for a couple or single person looking to escape the stresses and hustle and bustle of city life for a weekend or week-long stay on the borders of the Suffolk coastline and the AONB. Carefully fitted out for self-catering holidaymakers, Swift Lodge perfectly marries style and practicality, to make this a homely and relaxing bolthole. Between May and September Swifts are flying about as they nest in the owners’ cottage next door.

The front door opens onto a hallway with coat and shoe storage, as well as a convenient chest of drawers. On this level you will find the shower room, with level access shower cubicle - ideal for if you want a quick rinse after a muddy walk for instance! The laundry area with washing machine and hanging space opens off. A sturdy wooden staircase leads up to the first floor, which has a contemporary studio style design.

The open plan room on the first floor has been thoughtfully 'zoned' to create functional areas, whilst not dominating the space. A kitchen area sits at the far end of the room and has a partial view out over the garden - here you can enjoy cooking in the electric oven, or, for convenience, there is also a microwave. To the left of the room is a sitting cum dining area lit by a big South facing dormer window– both of which benefit as a space to enjoy the Smart TV. This area makes a great space to relax with a novel, a glass of wine or even a board game! Towards the other side of the room is the sleeping area with a carefully selected double bed; you'll certainly have a good rest here! Fitted cupboards for clothes.

Outside, the owners have carefully sectioned part of the garden for private use by guests staying at Swift Lodge. The area of garden is for your exclusive use and comes complete with bench seating, where you can soak up some vitamin D. For those looking to explore further, why not bring your bicycles? Guests have access to a small storage underneath Swift Lodge which the owners will be delighted to show you. You'll also find a tumble dryer in here too.

So for a truly relaxing getaway, just a short drive away from the seaside at Felixstowe, be sure to book Swift Lodge without delay!  Pub: 0.2 miles  Shop: 1.2 miles.

This is a lovely space for one or two people with the main living area, king-size bed and small kitchen area located on the upper floor while the bathroom with a magnificent shower was located on the ground floor along with a utility room for the washing machine and hanging space for drying clothes or hanging freshly ironed shirts and tops. The uppRead moreer floor contains 4 moderately spacious cupboards where you can store folded clothes, and the amount of light in the room via the large main window and two side-windows was excellent. There is a helpful vestibule as you enter the property where dogs can eat and drink and one can disrobe if the going gets muddy. This did not apply during my visit as the two weeks I spent in Suffolk were probably the two best weeks in terms of weather that we will get in the whole of 2025. The owners of the property were very kind and visitors have the use of the front garden should they find the time. In my case, I was too busy exploring and visiting old haunts. Had I not already spent two weeks in Suffolk, I would very happily have stayed another week if I could. I would go back without hesitation, and having looked at house prices have an alternative to West Sussex as a retirement destination. The scenery is very different in both so choosing would be difficult, but I think you will get more for your money in Suffolk. Hide

It was lovely, the only problem we had was our elderly dog couldn't manage the stairs. He had to stay in the hall all the time.
