Creamery Cottage is a cosy two bedroomed cottage which sleeps four in the delightful town of Whitby on the North York Moors. There is an open plan living/dining and kitchen area, just right for a small family to be together after a day in the moors or great for friends to enjoy each other’s company whilst preparing a tasty dinner from local Yorkshire fayre or to sit and relax in front of the large smart TV and watch a favourite film. Go through the French windows into the garden which is decked and you will find a haven of peace and tranquillity, a summerhouse complete with TV and DVD, great for the kids or if you just want to sit and ponder. Upstairs you will find 2 comfortable bedrooms, both with an ensuite. Creamery Cottage is only two minutes stroll to a grassy walk to the open areas on the top of the cliffs and where you can let your dog off to use up some energy. The property is located within three minutes’ drive of Whitby. Here you will find a beach complete with donkey rides in the summer and some of the best fossil hunting in the country. Captain James Cook was an apprentice here in Whitby before he sailed off and discovered Australia. Whitby Abbey, a Cistercian monastery, is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stokers Dracula and the Goth community hold their festival here every year. With, history, art, nature and superb restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs and of course fish and chips there really is something for everyone in Whitby.
GROUND FLOOR
Entrance: Through the front door into the open plan ground floor area
Cloakroom: With WC and wash hand basin
Lounge/Dining Room/Kitchen: A light and airy open plan room with French windows leading out into the garden and the summer house. Cosy up on the two comfy sofas and rest your weary legs after a day’s activity in the fantastic North Yorkshire Moors or walking the cliffs. You will find an occasional table, large SmartTV and an oak dining table with chairs. There is a very useful storage cupboard to put all those seaside things so essential for a day on the beach !
The kitchen area incorporates a fridge and separate freezer (located in the storage cupboard), ceramic hob, electric oven and grill, dishwasher and microwave a window looks over the front of the property. The kitchen is a good size and will certainly mean that there is room enough for the chef to have culinary help when whisking up a delicious meal from local produce, why not try some locally fresh caught fish or famous Whitby Crab.
FIRST FLOOR
Landing: A staircase from the hallway area leads up to the landing which in turn leads to the bedrooms.
Bedroom 1: This is a truly delightful room, decorated in tasteful blues and greys and with a Juliette balcony letting in the sunlight and is a haven of calm. There is a King-sized bed with wooden headboard, bedside tables with lamps, large mirrored wardrobe and chest of drawers and an occasional chair. There is a TV for you to enjoy a lazy morning in bed.
Ensuite: This is a real plus as it has a bath with shower over, just right to soak your weary limbs after a day chasing the dog or kids up and down the beach. The white basin and sanitaryware completes this room.
Bedroom 2: A twin room with 2 single beds with upholstered headboards. This room has been decorated to reflect the beautiful purple heather you will see in July all over the moors the throws, cushions
and curtains all have the same purple hue. The twin beds can be made up as a super king-sized bed, please reflect which bed size you want on booking. A bedside cabinet and built in hanging space provide storage for your summer wardrobe or winter woollies. This room overlooks the front of the property.
Ensuite: A super addition to this cosy room, there is a corner shower, basin and sanitaryware, just right to wash the sand from between your toes
Garden/Patio: An enclosed decked and paved garden with outside furniture, just the place for some al fresco dining and the jewel in the crown, a lovely summer house painted pale blue. In here you will find a comfy sofa and TV with DVD, just the place to escape for some “me time”. This room also houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Pets: Pets are accepted
Parking: Parking: There is one designated parking space a short stroll away from the property. Turn right out of the front door walk for approx. 30 yds, turn right to go through an archway and you will see the parking space slightly to your left numbered “2”. Please only use the designated parking spaces as parking in the area is limited. There are additional parking spaces (including in front of the property) however this is a public highway therefore these spaces are on a first come first served basis. Further guidance on the parking provided can also be found in your welcome basket.
Heating: Gas central heating.
Short breaks: Accepted all year round.
Notes: Welcome pack and towels are provided. Travel cot provided. Unlimited WIFI available free of charge. Mobile phone signal is strong.
