The quiet village of Shereford is an ideal location from which to discover the beauty of the Norfolk countryside. Located 3 miles from the market town of Fakenham, which has plenty of facilities including a weekly market, cinema, bowling centre and retail shops. The house is only 20 minutes from the popular North Norfolk coast, much of which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby Sculthorpe has a fabulous fenland Nature Reserve, which is home to the Hawk and Owl Trust; the whole site is accessed via a Broadwalk and is a super place to observe a wide variety of bird and wildlife. The Georgian town of Burnham Market is a popular village to explore; on the way, drive through North Creake and explore the Abbey ruins and Creake Abbey Farm Shop and Cafe. Stately homes abound with Houghton Hall, Sandringham and Holkham in the area. The Holkham estate is one of only a few privately owned estates in the country and a visit to the Hall, Deer Park and its spectacular beach makes a great day out. The sandy beaches of Wells, Hunstanton and Holme are a short distance by car and of course there is excellent birdwatching at both Titchwell and Holme nature reserves. Pensthorpe Natural Park, as featured in BBC's Springwatch, is only a few miles away and is a great family day out.
