Tucked away in the heart of the charming market town of Beccles; this peaceful yet popular town, next to the River Waveney and a gateway to the Norfolk Broads, is the perfect escape for a romantic stay.  

This delightful single story holiday cottage boasts the best of Beccles; designed and built by local craftsmen, using composite cladding made with 90% recycled plastic and FSC 100% certified wood by Envirobuild, The Harnser is a truly local property. With a beautifully designed and spacious living, dining and kitchen area fully equipped with all you will need for the perfect self catering stay.  This holiday home has been carefully designed with accessibility in mind as well as comfort. Pocket sliding doors allow for extra width, a generous and modern bathroom fitted with an extra large low profile shower, a king size bedroom, reclining sofa and matching chairs and plenty of space throughout the property making for a comfortable self-catering stay. If this wasn't enough, there are also french doors leading to a charming courtyard, equipped with garden furniture to enjoy the last of the evening sunshine. The property benefits from driveway parking for one car, as well as an EV charger (charges apply). 

Beccles is a hub of activity, with a range of year round events including a Food Festival, Triathlon, Antiques Markets, Carnival, Beer Festival and much more. Beccles Public Hall & Theatre in the centre of town has a varied programme of shows and concerts. With a good selection of independent shops and eateries, you really will be spoilt for choice. Why not take a boat trip on Big Dog Ferry along the River Waveney, Gateway to the Broads – a great way to sight-see not only the rolling countryside but a fantastic array of wildlife. You could also enjoy the magnificent open air lido just a short walk from the property.

Beccles is a popular holiday destination situated on the Norfolk Broads, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Beccles is an extremely attractive medieval market town situated by the river Waveney, which runs along the town boundary. The town offers excellent exploration to the Norfolk Broads and has some of the most beautiful stretches of the river within the Norfolk Broads National Park. It is also just a short drive or cycle ride to the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Southwold and Walberswick. Amongst various boating activities, there are also riverside walks, the award winning outdoor swimming pool – Beccles Lido, golf course and many attractive surrounding villages. Beccles town has a complex of good town pubs and excellent restaurants, surrounded by quaint shops offering a variety of gifts and produce. Beccles is an ideal base to explore the sandy beaches, woodlands and parks of Norfolk and Suffolk. There is also a train station with direct trains from London and bus depot.

Alan and Jen were the perfect hosts for a very comfortable stay at The Harnser. They gave us a warm welcome and were knowledgeable about the area. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Harnser,it is cosy,comfy and had everything we needed. The location is in a central but peaceful spot. Great for the town centre and the Lido! Our hosts were friendly & helpful.

My dog and I had a blissful week here. Super comfy bed. Super comfy recliner sofa. Lovely courtyard garden which becomes a suntrap after Midday.Two huge supermarkets are 4 mins walk away. Numerous lovely walks are 5 mins away. Perfect location and amazing but non intrusive hosts if I could give it six stars I would. Thank you Alan and Jenny, we wilRead morel book again. Hide

The Harnser is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage and Alan and Jen are wonderful hosts. Location is perfect, just a stones throw from a choice of supermarkets and Beccles Town centre. Good restaurants and excellent coffee shops within a short walk. Easy access to the coast and the broads for days out.

The accommodation was exceptional; with everything you would need for a self-catering holiday. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and keen to ensure we had a very comfortable stay. They were also truly knowledgeable about the local area, advising on some wonderful places to visit. The property itself is in an ideal location within Beccles, Read moreeasy to get to and very close to local amenities, such as supermarkets and restaurants. We have just returned from a fabulous week staying at The Harnser......excellent central location, very well equipped and comfortable bed! The hosts Jen and Alan are so helpful, friendly but not at all intrusive. Would have no qualms about recommending to friends and family.

We Stayed in a well designed comfortable accommodation for two people with every conceivable thought and requirement given to the apartment.I a quiet setting,but close close to the town of Beccles ,with shops and local amenities and attractions within quick accessibility through close by trunk roads.Is worth pointing outing that we found the peopleRead more of Norfolk and Suffolk friendly ,unassuming and nice.On reflection we are already missing this area of the country,and hope to return to Beccles and hopefully 'The Harnser'. Alan & Jenny are a lovely friendly couple, they gave us a really warm welcome and were always on hand if needed. The apartment was really nice and a pleasure to have as a base. If ever we wanted to visit the area again we would certainly stay there.
