Great house in an amazing location. Very comfortable beds and had all the mod cons. Literally a 1 minute walk to pubs and restaurants, we loved Gin & Tapas, White Rose was supringly good, George is a solid place to eat as well. Pilot is a lovely place for a pint. The only downside is the parking situation. There is one space which can be easRead moreily accessed even with a larger vehicle at the front of the property. The issue is if you have a second car. This house sleeps up to 8 people comfortable, but if you have 2 cars, someone will need to park in a pay and display. We will be back. Hide

Wonderful location and amazing accommodation. The space was absolutely perfect for our family break and bars, restaurants and shops were less than a three minute walk away. The views of the sea are stunning from the front facing rooms. Would definitely come back!

A truly lovely property, well equipped,in a superb location, close to the village of Oystermouth, which has a great range of shops, eateries etc. Off road parking, alongside the property. The sea views of Swansea Bay, are fantastic, said to resemble the bay of Naples. So many bays to visit in Gower, cliff walks etc.

We had a lovely week as a family party of six, staying at Promenade View in September with very mixed weather and travelling on foot or by public transport. We learned that the works on the Mumbles promenade had only recently been completed before our arrival and the strings of lights switched on just the week before. They made for a really pleasRead moreant setting, in use by walkers and cyclists day and night, but never noisy. (And worthy of some new photos on the website.) So the number one attraction is the lovely location, with so much within walking distance and great views over Swansea Bay from the front of the house. The cottage itself has been recently fitted out to a very high standard and the number of bathrooms was luxurious for us. The kitchen was well equipped with more than ample crockery, cutlery and utensils for our needs and, I would think, for a party of eight. We appreciated that basic consumables, i.e. toilet paper, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and even a few tea bags, were provided for us already on arrival. We cooked our own food every night (except the last) and found the two ovens, gas hob and pots and pans sufficient for everything we tried, though a larger pyrex oven dish would have been ideal. The washing machine and tumble drier both worked well; we provided our own laundry detergent. The dishwasher was small but adequate. (We needed to do a little washing up by hand so as not to leave dirty pans and plates etc. for a second load; we provided the dishwasher tablets.) The fridge freezer was plenty big enough for our party and there was generous storage for food that would surely suffice for eight people eating in every day. The bedrooms had shutters rather than curtains (so never completely dark at the front of the house) and the beds were comfy. We all slept well. Hide

Overall, the property is very conveniently placed for Mumbles and the surrounding sightseeing areas. Lots of eating and takeout places within walking distance, though most do close by around 9 p.m. The internal decor and condition of the property was very good. Outside, in front, there was only parking space for one vehicle, which was sufficientRead more for us, but did require careful manoeuvring of the vehicle to get it parked parallel to the property on the short driveway. The rear yard was quite small, backing onto a public green space and play area, and was generally private and low noise. The amenities and facilities provided within the property were sufficient for our needs (four adults), although the twin-bed bedroom on 1st floor did smell a bit musty, so we didn't use it. The shower controls in both bedrooms on the loft floor did not work and ought to have been repaired for normal function. The cold water plumbing for the whole house can be a bit noisy (water hammer in pipes), esp. if you try to run the taps on a low setting (to try and conserve water!). Most of the windows in the property did not open easily, and some were jammed (despite their handles being unlocked). The bedding was clean and fresh. However, as a recommendation, it should be adapted to the warmer months, as we found that ours was far too warm for full comfort. During our stay there were heavy site works progressing on the promenade and side roads directly within 10 meters of the property. We found the noise and roadblocks disruptive to the peace and quiet we had expected during our stay (esp. since the works started at 8 am most weekdays), and we feel we should have been alerted to this in advance when we were booking the property. We loved the cottage and the location although at the moment its a bit noisy as the sea wall is being Strengthened so you cant actually walk on the sea front which was disappointing but that isnt the fault of the owner of the cottage. Parking is a bit awkward as we were blocked in a couple of days

The house is lovely and well maintained. The location is ideal and is going to be great for anyone visiting in 2025 I'm sure. We weren't so luckyHowever, we were unaware (until we got a call the day before we arrived) of the massive construction project which is ongoing on the promenade to replace/reinforce the sea wall. Work started between 7 and Read more8am every weekday including diggers, concrete lorries, bulldozers and tipper trucks. Hundreds of men in hard hats and high viz all day long, just 20m from the front door. The noise was constant and horrible. I had a conversation with a site foreman who told us that the optimistic end date for the works is February 2025. So it's a great house with lovely views but our timing was terrible. Hide
