Location, location, location AND brimming with every comfort you can possibly wish for, this extremely generously proportioned holiday home is hard to beat. Driftwood House sits on East Cliff, Gower, very close to the award-winning Three Cliffs Bay, just a 20-minute walk. A Lloyds Bank report reported that Eastcliff was one of the 5 most prestigious addresses in Wales.

There are three balconies from which to admire the stunning sea views that look out over Hunts Bay and across to the north Devon coast, or retreat to the enclosed courtyard where there's plenty of space to dine al-fresco. Other features include an inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove, a large bespoke kitchen, a huge family bathroom with roll top bath and a generous shower area, plus 3 of the 4 bedrooms have en suite facilities.

One of the best views of the nearby Three Cliffs Bay can be found locally from Pennard Golf Course, and whether you decide to play a round of golf or simply take in the view, there in front of you is Pennard Castle perching the star of the backdrop where the landmark cliffs fall to the sea, surrounded by the lush hill side where sheep graze and wild ponies roam freely. The nearby and recently opened 'The Cliff Restaurant' offers excellent meals with the popular Three Cliffs Coffee Shop below it being popular with walkers and locals. Southgate also has a popular pub called The Southgate Club which has undergone a recent refurbishment.

A lovely house, with unusual design features/layout. Comfortably warm although it would be more helpful to be able to adjust the temperature in the house. The lighting in the ground floor sitting room is too dark for reading.

A wonderfully spacious house in a fabulous location. Close walking distance to Hunts Bay and just a bit further to Pobbles and Three Cliffs Bay, which we walked to with the children. The house is on a very quiet, no through road. We used the large front lawn for outside play (luckily we brought lots of play equipment). On rainy days we appreciated Read morethe comfortable lounge, huge TV and great selection of DVDs. We also used some of the games and books in the house. Swansea is close by for wet weather days - we visited the market and LC water park. All communication with the owners was clear and helpful. Hide

A large beautiful property. Very tastefully decorated with every possible detail to ensure a comfortable holiday is had by the guests. Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. There were 4 in our group but it could have comfortably accommodated twice that amount. The owner could not have been more helpful and information received prior to stay wasRead more detailed and comprehensive. Hide

Driftwood House is a very nice traditional looking property in a frontage comprised of a large mix of architectural styles - with the mega glass boxes trying to out-do each other and looking completely out of place! How the Planners can approve such inappropriate architecture beggars belief! So, despite it's unusual, but interesting internal layouRead moret, Driftwood House is a capacious, but comfortable house, with gorgeous views over the Bristol Channel to Devon - do put the Marine Traffic App on your phone before you go and you'll be able to ID all the passing ships as WiFi works well throughout the house. The kitchen is a great central area where we cooked and ate, before retiring to the TV room which has the largest TV we've ever seen! There's so much to see and do on The Gower, apart from wonderful beaches, there's awesome walking, and lots of interest, like castles, churches and burial mounds. There are some good places to eat too, and we can highly recommend the Pobbles Restaurant at Pennard Golf Club, only five minutes away. It's not fine dining but very nice, and very reasonably priced with attractive views over the golf course, and if you really want something special, 30 minutes away at Llanmadoc is The Britannia where the cockle and laverbread starter is stunning and the salt marsh lamb main course is to die for - suggest you book. To become an instant expert on everything on the Gower peninsular, invest in the excellent book 'A Pocket Guide to Gower' from The Gower Society. Driftwood makes a great base, and the owners are not only very helpful, but very quick to respond to any queries you may have. Hide

What a wonderful house, in a perfect, very quiet location and so sunny! So much room for us all. Lovely big rooms, lots of nooks and crannies to hide away for a few moments on your own, lots of space for children to play and the view of the sea from the upstairs lounge and balconies is fabulous. Our hosts are such lovely people too, providing an exRead morecellent house book and easy communication; we were lucky enough to meet them as they were staying in the garden rooms during our stay. The house is in an Ideal location, only 35 minutes to Rhossili in the west and 15 mins to the Mumbles. So many beaches to visit in between! Lots of walks along the cliff path opposite the house and a climb down to the rock pools at Hunts Bay below the house. We eventually decided that Langland Bay was our favourite beach, for facilities, toilets, sheltered, with a lifeguard and dog free in the summer (having got really fed up in Rhossili with owners and their uncontrolled dogs). Rhossili beach accessed from Llangenith is a must for surfers and sand dune sliding fun, Oxwich for shell collecting and swimming, nobody was on Horton beach (but has toilets and coffee caravan), the Mumbles for a walk along the promenade, cafes and ice cream, and Swansea beach with lots of activities for children nearby. This is the perfect house with comfortable beds, lots of comfy sofas and most of all space. Will definitely be returning. Hide
