The cottage was lovely but needs a lot of TLC/renovation/decoration. The location was perfect for us to explore. We found a general uncleanness and had issues with furry feet in the loft overnight. We contacted the company who were very prompt in getting issues sorted for us. However, on reading the visitor book, it seems these issues have been goiRead moreng on for many years. People have made recommendations but it looks to us that this book is completely ignored. There was also a musty sour smell that we eventually got used to but every single thing we took had to be washed on returning home. Lets hope it all gets fixed over winter as this property has the potential to be amazing. Loved the rambling gardens too. Hide

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location with lovely views, plenty of scenic walks or cycling opportunities right from the house and also comfortable beds. It's just a shame that an empty oil tank on our arrival meant we had no central heating for our stay over Christmas and action to diagnose and address this was quite slow and needed coRead morensiderable chasing because of no local owner/ readily available responsible person. We have received an apology and partial refund, for which we are grateful. Just to note in case of use to highlight to future guests - there was no dishwasher (we had noted and were prepared for this) - the property was not dressed for Christmas beyond a couple of 1 foot high window sill Christmas trees and a small wreath - the only shower is in an ensuite to one of the bedrooms (again we had noted this beforehand) We still enjoyed our stay here overall and would consider returning.
