The ruins of Dunstanburgh castle (150 metres) are an obvious choice for a visit, but there’s also Bamburgh Castle, 13 miles further up the coast. Bamburgh also has a golf club (14 miles) with fantastic scenery and a beautiful stretch of golden sands (13 miles) on the coast. If you take a boat over to Holy Island (28 miles) you are in with the chance of spotting all kinds of wonderful wildlife, including dolphins, seals and puffins among hundreds of other species.
