We had a lovely time in Gayle. The cottage was warm and comfortable with every possible kitchen utensil, including a proper teapot to go with the Yorkshire Tea! It was really useful to have basins in the bedrooms too. The weather was perfect for our spring trip, so it was easier to drive through the ford to get to the cottage, though we understaRead morend thats often not possible when the water is high after rain. Its a tiny lane to the cottage so its easier to navigate if you have a small car. We didnt try the wood-burning stove during our visit, but we loved the fairy lights in the living room. Hide

A charming, quaint cottage in a beautiful location. We loved our stay at this cottage; from the lovely welcome basket to the thoughtfully provided wood and coal for a cosy fire. We ate at The Fountain hotel: friendly and welcoming with good pub food, the Wensleydale Pantry and the cafe in the cheese factory: all simple but delicious. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this lovely cottage. Hide
