An interesting Arts and Crafts period property which has benefitted from recent renovations including a new kitchen and appliances in 2023, new central heating, refurbished bathroom, bespoke double glazing and is decorated and furnished throughout in soft shades, making the property airy, light and soothing.  Period features have been kept, maintaining the cottages character and overall ambience. With a large patio that enjoys the sun throughout the day and its own parking area it is most certainly a property for the discerning visitor who appreciates style and quality.

Location: In an elevated position in Beer, overlooking the village and a 4 minute walk down to the beach.

Accommodation: From the gravelled parking area, a gate leads to steps down into the patio garden. You enter the cottage via a tiled reception hall and a step-down leads to a parqueted open plan area containing a dining table and 6 chairs with panoramic views across the patio to the village and beyond. The kitchen has oak flooring, electric oven, ceramic hob, integrated tall fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of crockery, cutlery, and equipment. Adjacent is a utility/boot room with washing machine, tumble dryer and rear access. The stylish sitting room has 2 three-seater leather settees, an open fire for the winter evenings and those lovely views across the village of Beer. There is a recently refurbished ground floor shower room with WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. From the hall is an elegant period wooden staircase to the first-floor landing off which is a second bathroom with bath, basin, WC, corner shower unit and heated towel rail, with added ambience provided by the stained glass windows. Alongside is the rear double bedroom with bedside tables, fitted wardrobes and a garden view. From the landing there are two steps up to the other two bedrooms. The master bedroom with original fireplace, a king-size bed, bedside tables, double wardrobe and large chest of drawers and extensive views across the village. The twin bedroom has the same views, a shared bedside cupboard and small wardrobe. The property has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, respecting the period features whilst sensitively incorporating modern styles.

Outside: The west facing patio area catches the sun throughout the day. You can enjoy eating at the 6-seater table with parasol, or relax in the casual seating around the fire pit, which can also be used as a BBQ for which equipment and utensils are provided.  Decorated with shrubs, plants and herbs for guests' use, it enjoys extensive views across the village. The patio is in an elevated position with a low cable fence and drop to the path below, so please supervise younger children and small pets.

Beer is an absolute gem and Westview Cottage was extremely comfortable. For us it was a great location. It is on a steep hill which may not be right for everyone though. The cottage is very well equipped - we regularly rent in various locations around the UK, and this was *way* better than most. We usually want to try somewhere new each time, but wRead moree will be going back to Westview Cottage very soon! Hide

Very clean, well equiped and thoughful decor. The location is very convenient for Beer seafront and is only a short walk to the shops, restaurants and pubs. Being able to park on the front was also brilliant.

We have been visiting Beer every year since 1989. We have stayed in lots of different cottages in that time, and this is by far the best cottage we have stayed in. It was very clean, very well equipped, comfortable, great size property and fantastic views across the village. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a brilliant cottage. It's clean and bright and the owners take a great deal of trouble keeping it that way. This was our third visit and there have been significant improvements each time - this time it was a complete refurbishment of the utility room. That's very impressive. Probably best feature of all is the private parking on the prRead moreemises - Beer's parking is a real problem, so having a personal parking space is fantastic. Wonderful cottage, beautifully blending original features with modern comforts. Fully and thoughtfully equipped. Great location for just relaxing, or enjoying the beach at Beer, the coast path, independent local shops, as well as the surrounding area. Would happily stay here again.

Cleanliness at the property seemed to be lacking, no attention to detail I.e. stainless steel towel radiator covered in splash marks, kitchen surfaces still dirty, washing machine has thick layer of dust & dirt on door.
