Why not enjoy the experience of living in a fisherman’s cottage with the sound of the sea to lull you to sleep. The cottage is in a prime position in the heart of Scarborough’s historic Old Town, between the sea and the castle.  This property has been totally modernised throughout with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a contemporary dining kitchen and cosy lounge.  There are stunning views of the sea and harbour through the upper windows.  It is only a short walk to restaurants, cafes and seafood stalls or enjoy the spectacle of the boats coming into the harbour. All this and the added bonus of a designated parking space close by (suitable for a small vehicle only)

Lounge/Diner: Two x 2 seater sofas, wall mounted flat screen TV, DVD and CD, storage cupboard, two storage boxes/coffee tables.
Dining Kitchen: New modern kitchen units, fridge with ice box, electric oven with gas hob, microwave, dining table with two chairs and a bench, feature wooden ceiling and arched window.

FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom One: Double bed, two bedside cabinets with lamps, built in wardrobe and clothes storage, beautiful sea and harbour views.
Bathroom: Delightful mini bath with integral seat and shower over, wash hand basin with vanity unit and mirror over, WC, heated towel rail.

SECOND FLOOR
Bedroom Two: Two single beds, chest of drawers, reading lamp, fantastic sea views through the sash window, flat screen TV.
Shower room: Shower cubicle with rainfall shower, wash hand basin lighted mirror above, WC, heated towel rail

Parking: Designated parking place number 4 in a nearby car park

Quiet, despite, the location, and very convenient. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfotable and clean. Compact and ccomfy living room, but really needs a coffee table and a lighter mat - the big woolly one seems to take up most of the room. The kitchen/diner is adequate at best. Almost no surfaces to prepare food or store items - the cupboards aRead morell smell very musty and are crammed with generally unneeded items. At the very least there needs to be some shelving. The extractor above the cooker is too weak and does not remove smoke or steam quickly enough. There are no openable windows in the kitchen (unless you're 10 feet tall), which doesn't help. There are no obvious smoke alarms - since 2023, it's illegal not to have hardwired detectors, but all we could see were some portable CO monitors. There is a fire extinguisher and blanket, but they're too high on the wall for most people to reach. Legal issues aside, at half the price, the house would be a nice break for two fit people (there are many stairs in and out) for up to a week, but as things stand, there need to be some changes, particularly for safety's sake. Great property, handy for beach, shops and restaurants. Parking is a huge bonus in a secure area.

A lovely cottage, right in the centre of the old town. Comfy beds, 2 proper sofas in the lounge so 4 adults can all sit down for the evening (I say this as many cottages seem to sleep 4 and seat 3!). The parking space is a real bonus and the permit you need to display is easy to spot once you're in the cottage. You can walk straight down the old cuRead morestom steps to the sea front or turn left out the cottage and walk up some gentle slopes into Scarbs, we are a mixed age group (40's-70s) and we didn't have any issues but if you're not keen on stairs or slopes then perhaps book a holiday in Holland instead .... as Scarbs isn't flat Hide

The cottage was superb and I would definitely recommend it and stay at it again. Just feel very disappointed that it wasn't made clear that you needed to display a parking permit and ended up with a 70 parking fine.
