As you come to the centre, you will see a huge village green nestled under big Norfolk skies; it is a captivating sight. There is an excellent children's play area, a good village pub that does take away meals and an eclectic village shop & post office for everyday needs. The area is great for cycling and walking, the Weavers Way passes through the village and the coast at Cromer, with its iconic Pier and sandy Blue Flag beach, is less than a 20-minute drive away. There is golf, the Amazona Zoo and a surf school here too, if you want to learn a new skill. The National Trust houses and parks at Felbrigg and Blickling are a fun day out, and the lovely Georgian town of Holt with its numerous independent shops, great food hall, cafe culture, antique shops and art galleries is a spot not to miss. It is also the gateway to the north Norfolk coastline much of which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are some pretty, coastal villages to discover. The Stables is the best equipped and the cleanest cottage we have rented. The owners even went to the trouble of returning some medicines that I had left in the fridge. The cottage was excellently placed for countryside and coast, with excellent pub The Cricketers just 100 yards away.

The owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making the cottage perfect. It is spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. It is ideally positioned for the coast, NT properties and even the Broads (as well as about 100 metres from a wonderful pub, The Cricketers). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Stables is a real gem, and is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. It is equipped to a very high standard, with everything you could possibly need and more. It was nice to have a cosy separate lounge. The superking bed is extremely comfortable and the quiet location of the cottage ensures a good nights sleep. It has a lovely enclosed pRead morerivate garden, with comfortable seating. Wi-Fi signal is very good, even in the garden. The position of the house overlooking the cricket pitch is lovely, and the day we arrived, it was nice to see a cricket match in progress. The owners have provided an extensive range of information about places to visit, and lots of books about Norfolk. Hide

Outstanding property. Attention to detail is first class. Obviously extensive consideration was given to the facilities and decor to make the accommodation as welcoming and comfortable as possible.
