The Greenhouse is a large Victorian four bedroom mid terrace house situated in the centre of the village of Bamburgh. It was built in 1893 as the village grocers store and faces the tree lined village grove in a very attractive location. Each of the 4 bedrooms in The Greenhouse are en-suite and the property provides a wonderful base to explore Northumberland set in the heart of the historic coastal village of Bamburgh. It is located within strolling distance of a selection of superb restaurants and shops, Bamburgh Castle and miles of white sandy beaches. This large house and its extension "Greenleaf", also listed with ourselves, can be let separately or together and can sleep up to 12 guests in total.


Ground Floor

The house has a spacious lounge with a large bay window overlooking the grove and has a second public room, currently used as a snug/reading room. A light and airy open plan kitchen/diner with seating for 8 is ideal for meal times and entertaining. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including a range style cooker and a laundry room. The lounge and kitchen/diner have solid oak flooring throughout. Outside is an enclosed courtyard, with table and chairs for outside dining. 

 

First Floor

On the first floor guests will find two large bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and the other with a king size bed that can split off into two single beds. Both rooms have flatscreen digital televisions and en-suites with a shower, wash hand basin and toilet. These rooms have space for a cot which can be provided. There are also two smaller bedrooms - one with a king size bed, one with a double bed, and both en-suite with a shower, wash hand basin and toilet.

The Greenhouse is dog friendly and the fees are £25 per dog. Please note dogs are not to be let into the bedrooms.

Both The Greenhouse and Greenleaf can be rented to create accommodation for up to 12 guests. Partition doors can be opened to interlink the properties.

Cottage was in need of some TLC - fresh paint, carpets etc. Bathrooms were dated and not very clean. Showers werent great. Beds were comfy and bedding & towels were nice quality & clean. Firstly the property is in an amazing location. Tucked between the local butcher and a pub both of which are really nice. Can't fault the view of the castle or beach access when you walk out the front door. Inside it is set up to accommodate 8 people comfortably with 4 en suite bedrooms. 8 seater dining table and chairs. Lounge space for 8 as welRead morel. Kitchen is large enough though some may struggle with size of fridge freezer if planning on cooking every day. We didn't so it wasn't an issue. The snug room was an added bonus. The heating wasn't working in one of the bedrooms but I have no doubt the owners will sort it. They allow 2 exceptionally behaved dogs. Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the sofas. So we ended up putting our dog into kennels as I knew we wouldn't be able to abide by their rules. It wouldn't put us off staying there again. Overall we would highly recommend. Hide

Loved the greenhouse it was a perfect place to stay in terms of comfort, location and ammenities. It really is the most lovely place to stay. The whole family had the best time.

This is a great property in a fantastic location. All restaurants, pubs, shops and coffees shops are o your doorstep. However the house is quiet and private. We had 4 adult couples and the house was large enough for dining, watching TV, relaxing. 4 proper double bedrooms all with en-suite. Perfect holiday property!

Having stopped in the properties before we knew what to expect. Excellent location and space throughout for a large family. The price has considerably increased since we last stopped (pre covid) and felt the price for one week was on the high side. We stop in Northumberland every year and Bamburgh is a particular favourite but feel you can get beRead moretter value and quality accommodation in other areas. We love greenhouse and greenleaf as we have fond memories and love the location. I'm sure we would stop here again in the future and are looking for Northumberland accommodation in Oct 2025. Hide

This is a lovely property in a fantastic location. Rooms are large, comfortable and up to date. Well appointed kitchen. The snug very cosy and great for those wanting peace from the larger lounge area. The ensuite shower and toilet in each bedroom very welcome. Small but sunny courtyard good for outside dining. Had a comfortable stay at the Greenhouse for my 60th Birthday. It is in central location in Bamburgh so handy for pubs, butcher's and beach. The open plan layout makes it a very sociable space and each bedroom having an ensuite was welcomed by my friends. The outdoor space got the sun, when it came out, in the afternoon and was a sun trap. Parking Read morecan be difficult in Bamburgh at peak times when day visitors arrive but we found after 4 pm parking spaces near the property came available. It is obviously a popular property and is showing some tiredness in a few places but it was comfortable, clean and warm and we all had a great time. Hide

A super location in the village close to all amenities. The kitchen/dining area is large and the lounge is comfortable. Good to have en suite bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the gales.

Lovely large cottage right in the centre of Bamburgh. Each bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, the showers were lovely and hot and there were plenty towels, toilet rolls and hand wash. The kitchen is well equipped, although the fridge is not really large enough for an eight person property. We stayed over Christmas and there was a small decRead moreorated tree in the dining room, which has a lovely large dining table, sideboard and log burner. The lounge is comfortable and has a Smart TV and Blu-ray player. Theres a supply of games/jigsaws. There are 3 pubs within a very short walking distance and takeaway options in the nearby town of Seahouses. Bamburgh itself is beautiful. This was perfect accommodation for family/friends. Hide

The property was tired and needs a redecoration . The fridge was missing the proper insides for milk so was very precarious when opening the fridge door . Part of the range cooker (oven) wasnt working . The parking situation was horrendous !
