Would you like to stay in The Boat House at Bamburgh? It adds comfort and style to a simply wonderful location. Originally the first serving lifeboat house on the coastline of the United Kingdom, the property is nestled within the dunes and comes accompanied with great views of the castle and coastline. Guests have the convenience of accessing the beach using the garden gate and dune path. Accommodating guests in a freshly refurbished and spacious environment, the property has all the modern facilities to make your stay one of relaxation. This property has been beautifully decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard.

Within walking distance of the property, as well as the beach and castle, the village has plenty of pubs and restaurants, a village store, butcher and greengrocer. The property benefits from a car free path from the front gate up to the village green and children's play area. The challenging and picturesque golf course is also just a stroll from the door.

Ground Floor
The porch leads to a large open plan kitchen, living room and dining area with access to the garden patio and big, fully enclosed garden with outdoor furniture. Guests will also find a king size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, including shower over bath, WC and hand basin. There is also an additional bedroom with a spacious king size bed with feature fireplace (not in use). Guests also have use of the garden patio with table and chairs for al fresco dining and gate access to the beach.

First Floor
On the first floor is a king size bedroom with built in wardrobe and stunning views of the castle and coast, a twin bedroom with views towards Bamburgh castle and a separate bathroom with a shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.

Fantastic location, right next to the beach and 5 minutes walk from Bamburgh town. Unfortunately the house is lacking some care and attention. It needs a thorough clean, some of the furniture has seen better days and the kitchen equipment needs a good overhaul as some basic items are missing and a lot of items are very damaged &/ dirty. The location is outstanding with very easy access to the beach. The Boat House is well equipped but some of the cooking equipment needs replacement. We could not find instructions for the heating system. Overall we would recommend this property mainly due to its location and comfort.

The Boat house is the best location in Bamburgh. Steps from the beach and everything else within a short walk. The house is very comfortable if a little tired although it was the end of the season. We would be very happy to stay here again.

This is a fabulous location, possibly the best in Bamburgh and that is why we booked. Unfortunately we had not understood "shower over bath" for one bathroom - you cannot shower in this room so eight people were sharing the only stand up shower upstairs in an unventilated room. We devised a rota, like on a campsite. The reviews we read before visiRead moreting were critical of the standard of cutlery, crockery and glassware. We shared these views. We had a lovely Weekend in Bamburgh. The location of the property was fantastic with Direct Access to the Beach & Bamburgh only a short walk. However we thought that the property itself was starting to look a little tired & was generally in need of a spruce up We understand that we are getting towards the end of the main season. We feel at tRead morehis price point we expected a little more. The walls & carpets in places were quite dirty & stained not to mention the cobwebs. Additionally we thought that the check in & out times In 1600 & Out 1000 could be better ie 1500 / 1100 minimum. Hide

This property is in a great location, within v easy walking distance to beach, castle and village with great local walks which is why I think it has a 5* rating. The property itself is certainly not 5*. Kitchen equipment is old and in poor condition- not enough cooking knives and those that are available are so blunt that cutting vegetable is veryRead more difficult. Cooking tins, with non stick finish, were flaking and not very user friendly. The cooker dials are so worn that reading temperatures is almost impossible. Curtain hooks were missing making opening and closing curtains difficult, the kitchen blind fell down and we were unable to put it back, cleaning was sub par, we found cobwebs and a t shirt under a bed. All in all this was not a 5* property. It is tired and feels uncared for. We did let the company know all this when we first arrived before posting a review but have had no response. Hide

The location of this property is absolutely knockout. Good sized rooms and facilities. While we have fed back one or two items to the owners that would further enhance guests' stay, this is a rather special holiday let!

The Boathouse at Bamburgh is a great place to stay. The location is perfect - nestled into the sand dunes next to Bamburgh Castle with rear access onto the the amazing Bamburgh Beach. There are four pubs/restaurants in village - we have eaten at three of them and were very happy. The bedrooms are all a nice size with two of them having outstandiRead moreng views over the beach and to the castle! The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots/pans and crockery. The space worked well for our party of seven adults and two dogs - although an extra loo in addition to the ones in the main bathroom and en-suite would have made it perfect. The location of property is fantastic and stayed here several times. However, this time some issues which detracted from holiday. We took elderly parents and they couldnt watch main channels as tv was faulty, this wasnt fixed despite calling to report. Could not fault anything about the cottage, it was even better than we imagined, location, quality, comfort and cosiness was faultless. Our biggest compliment would be we would be more than happy to spend the rest of our days there :-) , we will return.

We had a very enjoyable family holiday. The location of the cottage is perfect for both the beach and the village,however property is showing signs of wear and tear and needs some TLC.

Location was fantastic it was great being able to nip back to the house. The enclosed courtyard meant the kids could be sand free before entering the house.

The cottage is in an amazing setting, nestled among the dunes at the foot of Bamburgh Castle so the location is perfect for the beach but is also only a short stroll to the excellent butchers, three pubs and delis in the village. The road on which the cottage is located is quiet at night although it is very near two beach car parks so there is Read moresome traffic during the day. The kitchen was well appointed and the sitting room ideal for us to watch the Euro final. The three double bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. There were only three of us staying so the cottage was fine for us but be aware that if all the bedrooms are occupied by two people per bedroom then as one bedroom is en suite, it means there will be only one loo available (in the family bathroom) for the remaining occupants of the other three bedrooms. We love this cottage, it was our third time, we love Bamburgh and have happy family memories across the generations and hope to return.
