West Runton is an appealing seaside village nestled into the north Norfolk coastal landscape and host to one of the largest chalk reefs in Europe. It offers a family friendly, Blue Flag beach with crabbing and fossil hunting and there is also a pub, grocers, train station and two cafes. Rocky Bottom - the local fish restaurant, gym, golf and swimming all to be found within half a mile of the cottage's front door. To the east discover the resort of Cromer with its famous Pier and cliff top walks and further along this stretch of the coast are numerous flat, sandy beaches that are often not over populated even in the summer. Head west and discover the open marshes at Stiffkey and Cley-next-the-Sea and seaside villages such as Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea, each with their own unique character. With great pubs, delis, smokehouses, farm shops and eateries there are plenty of places that showcase the produce that Norfolk is justifiably famous for, such as crabs, mussels, cheeses, wines and more. The area is rich in history too with Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall both run by the National Trust and Holkham Hall, the seat of the Earl of Leicester, which is still an independent family-run estate, which are all worth a visit. This is a wonderful part of the county and a holiday here will bring back many happy memories for years to come.

Spotlessly clean property. The stairs are very steep, treads uneven, and hand rail loose, this did not effect our stay, but think it should be stated in the details., had it been mentioned we might not have booked. The two televisions are very old, at least one modern television might be nice.

Ideally placed cottage for exploring the wider area and the common was brilliant for quick dog walks. The cottage had a lovely atmosphere, was very comfortable and well equipped, but suggest you pack light as the stairs are steep (as mentioned by the owners).

Well equipped cottage with fabulous walks on the doorstep! We enjoyed, beach, coastal paths and woodland walks. Enclosed sheltered back yard useful for dog and we ate lunch in the autumn sunshine out there . Short walk to railway station, village pub and local shops. The stairs may be problematic for anyone with mobility issues.
