In amongst a cluster of Georgian houses in the heart of Burnham Market, Angel Cottage is an elegant holiday home full of charm and creature comforts. Built in the 1820’s the cottage was originally built to provide service quarters for Westgate Hall. The space inside is generous and the cottage is very well equipped. There is a wood burning stove to keep toes warm in winter and a pretty courtyard to the rear of the cottage for eating out on warmer days. Overlooking the Church, the cottage is in an excellent spot to access village life, which offers award-winning restaurants and bars, independent shops, cafe culture and so much more. There are tennis courts available to hire in the village and Burnham Market is just 10 minutes away from the glorious beach at Brancaster, where you can also find a great links golf course. The region is renowned for its coastal scenery, much of which is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Coast Hopper bus service runs through Burnham Market and will take you anywhere from Heacham in the west to Cromer in the east. There is much to discover and Angel Cottage is a beautiful start to your holiday. Shops/Pubs: within walking distance

Notes: This is a non-smoking property. In keeping with properties of this age, the staircase is a traditional Norfolk winder, so unsuitable for small children and possibly the less mobile. There is a right of way across the rear courtyard, which is rarely used. The property does not accept pets but the owners occasionally visit with their own dog. Mobile signal - variable.

Beyond the village, you are truly in Nelson country and the area is ripe for exploration.  There are two wonderful beaches within easy reach; Holkham in one direction and Brancaster in the other. The tide goes out a long way and leaves behind glorious stretches of sand, backed by dunes and, at Holkham, pine woods too.  At Brancaster there is a wonderful links golf course but do watch out for the incoming tide and a further golf course at Hunstanton. Sailing courses are available at Brancaster and the beaches at Brancaster and Heacham are great for sand surfing and kite flying - this part of the coast also offers some stupendous sunsets, a photographer’s dream.  Year round the area is well known for its bird and wildlife and during the winter, The Wash and its surrounding coastline is a haven for migrating birds. There are nature reserves at Titchwell, Holme and Cley-next-the-Sea and you can book a trip out to see the local seal colony at either Morston or Blakeney, just a few miles along the coast. There are plenty of farm shops, great restaurants and gastro pubs - many award winning - so the area is a foodie heaven and showcases the best the county has to offer from mussels to locally made cheeses and artisan bread makers.  A visit to this part of Norfolk will draw you back again and again - don’t miss out!

Lovely cottage, full of character and located right on the Main Street of Burnham Market. Nice artwork, an obvious useful fire during cold weather and a quaint courtyard we made use of during a heatwave. The only thing to be aware of was the very twisty carpeted stairs, not easy to use for elderly. Despite this, I and my family would certainly retuRead morern. Hide

The cottage was lovely, beautifully decorated and exceptionally well-equipped. We had everything we needed. It was a really cold week so we were grateful for the heating which was very efficient.

I would thoroughly recommend this characterful and cosy bolthole in Burnham Market. The wonky floors, original beams and traditional decor retain the historic nature of the cottage (previously 2 back to back ones that were joined together and converted). The logburner was very handy for the chilly February evenings and it was easy to buy logs and kRead moreindling from a nearby house. The whole house was in good decorative order throughout with board games, maps, leaflets for local attractions and plenty of homely touches. The bedrooms were of a good size for an old cottage and the main bathroom was really clean, done in a traditional style but new, with large bath and excellent water pressure. The cottage is in a central location with just a short walk to a playground and park, pub and all the shops in Burnham Market. We found parking ok and if we couldn't park outside the property, only had a short walk to the car. The town is within easy reach by car of the picturesque beaches, nature reserves, Wells-next-the-Sea, National Trust Estates and Sandringham. We enjoyed our break in the cottage very much. Hide

Cosy, comfortable and charming cottage right in the middle of Burnham Market. Lots of cafes, shops and restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk, but the location still felt quiet, especially in the evening.
