Ideal for families and groups of friends, or for a family celebration, this character property – once the living quarters for the nearby pub, Horatio Nelson’s favourite haunt – is in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea and close to amenities for a worry-free family holiday. Set in North Norfolk’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wells-next-the-Sea is steeped in history and was one of England’s great ports in Tudor times. The quay (100 metres) makes the perfect crabbing spot – see if you can spot the Lifeboat Horse, made from old whisky barrels, only visible when the tide goes out. Staithe Street is adorned with eateries, local shops and coffee shops only a short walk away, but fun for all the family can be found on the outskirts of the town on the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway (1 mile), the world’s smallest public railway.

Enjoy some quality family time together in this welcoming character property, which offers plenty of social spaces and sleeping arrangements to suit all ages. Upon entering the house, you are greeted by a warm and inviting living area with comfortable seating and a Smart TV as well as plenty of books and games. Through the living room, you will access the kitchen/diner which is fully equipped so you can whip up a meal for the whole family with ease. There is also a downstairs WC. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms: one king, one twin and a single bedroom, all bright and light, giving maximum sleeping options to keep everyone happy. Wonderfully located house close to everything in Wells. Beautifully clean and appointed and lots of room. The very upstairs room with a view to the Quay is very special.

The location was excellent - right by the quay in Wells and near to the main shopping street. The cottage was quirky and interesting, on several different levels and with fascinating history. It was extremely well equipped and comfortable - a great place in a lovely part of the country.

Perfect location for enjoying all that Wells has to offer. The parking space outside the property was a real bonus. Easy flat walking around the harbour, the town and along to the stunning beach. The property is very quiet considering how close it is to the hustle and bustle of the quayside. First floor deck is a lovely place to enjoy the sunshine.Read more So many places to eat and drink within walking distance. Beds are extremely comfortable, spacious property with everything you need. We loved our stay at The Ship. The cottage was spotlessly clean and so well equipped. There was everything we needed and so many extra thoughtful touches. I've never been to a holiday rental that provided a slow cooker before! The cottage is spacious and provided easy holiday living. We loved the top floor rooms that we nick- named The Crow's Nest.Read more I think the biggest recommendation we can give is that we have already rea-booked for a week next year. Hide

The location of this cottage is perfect. Right in the heart of Wells, everything is nearby, yet the location is peaceful and private. The cottage itself is well appointed with everything you need. Its ideal for an extended family holiday, and you never feel that you are on top of each other. We had a wonderful, memorable holiday.

The location was perfect with a much needed parking space included. Having thought we wouldn't use the outside deck area, we used it every day ! The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. I just wish we could have stayed longer.
