Welcome to White Yard Cottage, a charming, family run, dog friendly cottage with a garden in the heart of Whitby. From the entrance, you walk through a lovely small courtyard area, after which the property is named, with seating and on into the cottage which oozes old world charm and period features from every room. The lounge has a very warm and cosy feel with its chesterfield sofa and wing backed chairs to relax in and exposed brick chimney breast.  The pretty country kitchen/diner overlooking the garden is very well equipped and bathed in light from the large window overlooking the garden. It is a wonderful base to explore this lovely part of the world and Whitby is a very popular seaside town, retaining old world character with lots of events throughout the year. Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone in the locality, historic castles, even older abbeys, museums, farms, walking, cycling, superb local markets with the very best Yorkshire produce and of course restaurants and tea rooms too numerous to mention.

White Yard Cottage makes a lovely place to stay and enjoy a break with a beautiful and secluded rear garden, a charming space to relax maybe catch up on some reading or just soak up the sun as this property is bathed in sunshine for most of the day. Fantastic cottage. Fantastic location. Fantastic hosts. So clean, with such a thoughtful well equipped kitchen. (The range of dog bowls alone provided was amazing.) Gorgeous bath, comfortable bed. The best welcome pack I think we have experienced, dog treats included. Lovely garden, even in September it was a little sun trap. Vinnie ouRead morer dachshund particularly enjoyed squirrel watching. Hoping to return in the new year. Thanks so much, a perfect stay. Hide

This is our 2nd visit to the cottage it fits our needs perfectly. Great for our two labs as the garden is secure & it is only a ten minute walk to the beach or to town. We were lucky to get parked right outside the cottage but we knew this maybe hit & miss but you can always move the car if needed once a space is there. We have already booked agaRead morein for next June & Carol is brilliant & so helpful. Hide

Great cottage great location. Garden is lovely and sucure for the dogs. Parking could be an issue as it is street parking so not guaranteed a parking spot but we never had any issues. Would definitely recommend and we have already booked again for next year. The owner was really helpful and very approachable she was very welcoming.

Easy to book, happy with location. There was a couple of things for the cleanliness, one being there was an old nail file on the bathroom cupboard and the front porch drain didnt smell very nice. There is a low beam on the top floor with no warning which me and my daughter both banged our heads on when going from the room to down-or up the stairRead mores. Apart from those things all was good. Great location and has all the necessities you could need. Great for dogs, enclosed (small garden) which did look bigger in the pictures . Hide
