1 Rose Cottage is a delightful cottage just a couple of minutes’ walk away from the many tea rooms, shops and pubs in the old market town of Hawes in Wensleydale. The property offers excellent accommodation for families and friends or couples alike. Kick your walking boots off at the end of the day and cosy up in front of the lovely woodburner.

Ground Floor:
Lounge: A light room with dual aspect windows, one window looks out to the Dale behind. Comfortable corner seating, armchair and Smart TV. After a long walk, warm by the cosy wood burning stove.
Hallway:Hanging space for coats.
Kitchen: Leading from the hallway. A Large country kitchen with an original stone flagged floor sits at the back of the cottage. The kitchen has fitted units, offering lots of food storage space. You will find a fridge freezer, electric oven and hob. Washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, kettle and Bluetooth speaker. The Rayburn is for decoration only. A wooden table sits in the middle of the kitchen seating five. From this room you can access the back yard and side garden, this door is used as the main entrance to 1 Rose Cottage.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: A lovely bright room again with dual aspect windows, a small cane seat placed to take in the stunning views of the countryside. A zip & link (kingsize or 2 singles), two bedside tables, hanging space for clothes and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 2:  Single bed, bedside table and a chest of drawers. This bedroom has lovely views over the stone walls across the fields.
Bathroom:  A bathroom with a view. Free standing bath with rain head shower over the bath, toilet and sink.

Second Floor:

Bedroom 3: Steep narrow stairs to the attic bedroom. Low beam at the top of the stairs and full height and good space once in the room. Zip & link beds (kingsize or 2 singles), bedside tables, hanging rail, chest of drawers, comfy chair.

Outbuilding: Outdoor storage housing oil tank. Space to store bikes.

Parking: One space for a car outside the cottage. This is a shared parking area with the neighbours and is a first come first served basis. Further parking is available on the main street.
Heating:  Oil central heating, wood burning stove.
Garden/Patio:  A side grassed garden with bench and a small back yard. Charcoal BBQ.
Pets: 1 dog welcome

Short Breaks: Accepted all year round.  
Notes: Linen and towels are provided. Unlimited WIFI available free of charge. Mobile signal is variable. Welcome pack of fuel provided. Travel cot, high chair and stairgate provided. No smoking allowed at this property.

We had a lovely holiday on Rose cottage. The beds are comfortable and the water for a shower or bath was super hot. It is very well located for both the town and everything it has to offer and there is a nice walk down to the river sure right outside the back door .

Only 2 toilet rolls for 5 adults for a long weekend was just mean. No soap. No tea towel. Salt & pepper were empty. No coal or wood for the fire. These things matter & leave a poor impression when paying hundreds for a weekend away with family

Great location and loverly neighbour the cottage itself is in need of some maintenance paint etc and some cupboard doors are damaged really would benefit from more cupboard space in general if a family is using it. Loft bedroom has very steep stairs to it and a beam at the top that you easily bang your head on I would not recommend that room for anRead more elderly person or anyone with mobility problems. The floor in the kitchen is laid with large stone and is quite uneven and provides a trip hazard especially around the hob area which is quite dangerous. There is a large open drain outside that needs a cover. The fantastic views from the rear of the cottage would benefit from somewhere decent to sit to view them and there is no decent outside furniture except a rotting bench. Despite the above we had a great stay and the improvements would only enhance the lovely location Hide

1 Rose cottages is perfectly located within the delightful town of Hawes, which has a pleasant buzz about it, with lots to do and see and places to eat and drink. We had a comfortable stay in the cottage which has an homely feel and particularly loved the spacious kitchen, the bath with a pretty view and the friendly neighbours. Great location within Hawes. Views nice out of most windows. No proper outside space/seating for a meal. A little worn/utilitarian decor wise, but rooms are a good size. Not a cottage for anyone with movement issues as third floor stairs are very steep and the beam is tricky, and you have to climb into a high top bath to have a shower. Really nicRead moree location for using Hawes facilities, and a nice river a short walk away for swimming. Good walks from the cottage. Hide

Tastefully decorated cottage, lovely and quiet but situated in the centre of Hawes.

We had issues on the first evening which we reported. The cleanliness left an awful lot to be desired, both in general and of soft furnishings. The shower really needs two more curtains to give a comfortable showering area.

The overall cleanliness was excellent however the sofa was really filthy and we didnt even want to sit on it. The shower is very weak and the shower curtain itself not great. Kitchen was excellent and bedrooms were lovely.
