The Cart House is a beautiful Cornish gem for a couple looking for that special getaway. Rumored to have been used by Sir Walter Raleigh to house his horses and cart during his time as elected burgess of the borough of Mitchell. Stylishly converted and flooded with natural light, this lovely property offers spacious open-planned accommodation with exposed beams and comfy leather sofas. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances, where you can keep company at the breakfast bar whilst enjoying a glass of wine, or, if you fancy, visit The Plume of Feathers, just 2 minutes’ walk away; a renowned dog-friendly pub serving up country-pub fare. The Cart House is situated in a perfect location to access and explore the whole of Cornwall with both the north and south coast within easy striking distance.

Kitchen/Dining & Lounge Area: Two built in electric ovens (one combines as a microwave), ceramic hob, dishwasher, integrated fridge/freezer, wine cooler, large breakfast bar, table and chairs, 55” Smart TV.
Bedroom: 6” Super King bed (can be unzipped to form 2 X 3” single, please order in advance), free standing shelves and hanging rack, 43” Smart TV.
Shower Room: Dual thermostatic shower, heated towel rail, basin, electric mirror, shaver point, w.c.

GARDEN & PARKING: Allocated parking space for one car on paved area in driveway.


Pet Welcome: Maximum 1 x Adult Dog, £25 per week
Power and Heat: Electricity included in rent. Electric radiators heating throughout, heated towel rail in bathroom.
Bedding and Linen: Bed Linen & Towels provided. Please bring own beach towels.
Amenities: Local Convenience Shop 2miles, Pubs 0.1mile and 1.5miles, Numerous renowned beaches within 10-15 minutes drive, M&S Food-Hall 4 minutes, Waitrose 10 minutes.

Cannot fault the accommodation at all. The location is great just off the A30, 2 minutes walk from the fantastic Plume of Feathers. No garden for the dog as another guest said but there are a few grass verges near the property for first and last. The Cart House itself is pristine with top end appliances, fixtures and even the beautiful bedroom wallRead morepaper. The utensils and crockery look brand new and the bed is so comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and easily contactable and left some lovely welcoming essentials. Would highly recommend staying here. Looking forward to our next stay. Hide

The location of this property for us was ideal for visiting different parts of Cornwall and the plume of feathers was in walking distance

Stunning property equipped and decorated to such a high standard. An absolute joy to stay here, a real break. The plume of feathers pub just down the road is absolutely excellent as well, a real bonus to have it so close. The Cart House is a delightful, well appointed and very comfortable property, offering all amenities. We felt very well there and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Being part of a wider ensemble of other buildings and set in a rural and quiet environment, the Cart House also offered tranquility.

Lovely accommodation perfectly situated for visiting all parts of Cornwall. Facilities first class. Felt at home from the first moment we walked in. Nice quiet village with lovely pub and restaurant just a short walk away.

We stayed at The Cart House for 5 days and it was such an enjoyable stay. At the end of each day walking round Cornwall it was so nice to come back to such a lovely property to relax in for the evening. The property is beautifully decorated and so clean it is like everything is brand new ! Such lovely thoughtful extras with the good quality teas, cRead moreoffee & condiments. The Cart House was a great property, and everything in it was like new and top spec. I was very clean and well presented. It was spacious and bright and had everything we needed for a week. Its in a nice village and very accessible to the A30 to explore Cornwall. It would have been great to have had a garden for the dog but we were out exploring wRead moreith him everyday and so it wasnt an issue And everywhere we went was very dog friendly, including the local pub (The Plume of Feathers). The owners were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again. Hide

Fabulous stay! Lovely, clean & modern property. Very comfortable bed Only slight downside is that there is no garden area for the dog, saying that.. a lovely village to walk round. Overall excellent stay.

The Cart House exceeded all our expectations and we cant wait to come back! There is nothing we would change. The owners Phil and Helen couldnt do enough for us.
