Bryher Cottage is a delightful barn conversion, ideally located down a private lane in the historic and picturesque village of St. Mawgan with its pub and village shop, and within easy reach of Mawgan Porth, Watergate Bay and Padstow.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be taken by the wonderful sense of quiet and light as you sink into a very Cornish life. The owner has paid attention to every detail and this family-friendly home will delight adults and children alike with spaces to suit gatherings both indoors and out.

Downstairs you’ll find a bright, spacious and social open plan kitchen-dining-living area. With a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area for six, comfy sofas and a log burner for chilly evenings, it’s the ideal place to spend time with family or friends.

Patio doors lead from the living area into the safe and enclosed garden where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and country air over a glass of wine on the sun deck, complete with outdoor sofa.

Upstairs, there are three comfortable bedrooms with high quality linen and blackout curtains, perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after a busy day exploring, building sandcastles on the stunning local beaches or taking part in the many water sports on offer nearby.  The bathroom offers both a freestanding bath and a shower.

Boasting a fabulous location in the unspoilt rural village of St Mawgan, with a river, local village shop and tearooms, be sure to enjoy a drink at the popular village pub The Falcon Arms or let off steam in the playing fields and children’s playground. There’s even a Japanese Garden, historic church and a working monastery to explore.

A short drive will take you to many of the best beaches in Cornwall to surf, rock-pool or explore the South West Coast Path. Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth are within 3 miles; Bedruthan Steps, Porthcothan Bay, Harlyn and Constantine are all within easy reach and Padstow, with its fabulous independent restaurants, bars, and local shops, is just 7 miles. Newquay, 6 miles, is also worth a trip for some of the best surfing beaches in the country and the popular Paul Harwood’s Fish House, overlooking Fistral beach.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed, especially for the kids. The plastic plates/cups were very handy. The garden was lovely, a nice big enclosed space for the kids to play in. Only a few minutes drive to the beach. It was really lovely.

The cottage was perfect for us! It had everything we needed for our 1 year old meaning we didn't have to bring loads of things with us and it was an added bonus having an enclosed garden. The cottage itself is beautiful inside and very comfortable. The location is a great base to visit a lot of places, we went to The Eden Project, Newquay, Padstow Read moreand Port Issac. The village is lovely and it's only a short drive to the lovely beach at Mawgan Porth. We would definitely stay here again! Hide

Our 5th stay at Bryher Cottage and St. Mawgan. Delighted to return after past 2 years cancellations. Visited our favourite beach several times - Harlyn Bay and impressed by new beach bars/cafes and as ever the wide open sands and brilliant surf. Tried a few new places to eat!

We had a most fabulous stay - this place is wonderful! The garden is perfect for all weathers - we enjoyed the sunny evenings on the decking and all ages all loved playing on the hill. The house is so well thought through - the attention to detail is outstanding and its such a special place. The beds were very very comfy too!

Back for our 3rd visit to Bryher Cottage and looking forward to booking our 4th visit soon. Loved visiting Mawgan Porth beach, Constantine and Crantock Bay. Padstow is beautiful regardless of the weather as was Charlestown where we visited the Shipwreck Museum and Shackleton Exhibition. The cottage is perfectly located and equipped. Thank you!
