Occupying the first floor of a village pub, this five-bedroom, stone-built property is comfortable and cosy, with the surrounding area overflowing with footpaths and cycle routes waiting to be explored. The cobbled market town of Alnwick is nestled in the heart of Northumberland, famous for its unspoilt beauty – hailed as one of the most picturesque areas of countryside in the whole of Britain. Explore the maze of cobbled streets, narrow alleys and fine stone buildings of Alnwick town centre 9 miles away, which houses an excellent range of specialist shops and family businesses. Discover the iconic Alnwick Castle, a popular filming location, complete with magnificent medieval architecture and gorgeous Italianate staterooms. The Pennine Cycle Route 68 passes within 1 mile of the property, perfect for exploring your wonderful countryside surroundings.

Through a private entrance at the rear of the pub and up a flight of moderately steep steps, you’re welcomed into the entrance hallway of the property, with a large storage room ideal for bikes. The hallway leads to the spacious lounge, complete with ample comfy seating and a large TV, flooded with natural light from the picture windows. The open-plan kitchen/diner is well-equipped with everything you need to cater, plus two dining table sets and panoramic views through the treble window across the Vale of Whittingham. Back through the property, you’ll find a south-facing double bedroom, complemented by a walk-in wardrobe, a large en-suite bathroom, and an additional annexe room within it, simply furnished with a single bed, ideal for a family. The rest of the property comprises four twin bedrooms benefiting from en-suite shower rooms, each full of traditional farmhouse-style character.

It was a wonderful stay for a large group of us (6 adults and 6 children). Everyone had a room and each room had its own en-suite bathroom. The views from the kitchen are incredible and the place itself is quite large, yet very clean. There was no issues with equipment, utensils or parking. Pricing was very reasonable too. The property is as stated in every area, good location 30/40 mins to all attractions. everything you need is supplied. will I stay again, YES, and so would the other 10 members of the Family that were easily accommodated along with two little dogs.

Great accommodation and very well equipped. Lisa the owner was very helpful and let us know there was a problem with the boiler on arrival. Our only comment would have been about the noise from the pub below at night (especially on New Years Day night) but we knew we were staying above a pub so it is to be expected

We had a fabulous stay. Recommended to family and friends. The kitchen was very well equipped and the finishing touches like dish washer tablets and washing up liquid was much appreciated. As was the wine. Thank you very much

Once again had a great time. Vale view is an ideal place for a large group get together. The accommodation is always top standard. The owner is very helpful.

Excellent property , very clean , bedrooms large . Kitchen was very well equipped. We were a family of 9, age 13 yrs to 80yrs and we all enjoyed it .

Fantastic location to visit Northumberland attractions. Can do Durham in an hour, Lindisfarne, 30 mins. The cottage is so spacious and comfortable. Beautiful views.
