This charming stone-built cottage is situated in the Old Quarter of Seahouses and is located just 150 metres from the beach, making it an ideal base for a family or group of friends wanting a seaside holiday. The scenic harbour of Seahouses offers plenty of places to eat, drink and explore. Bamburgh, with its large sandy beach and spectacular sea-facing castle, is 3 miles away and is accessible on foot via a coastal footpath. Alnwick Castle and Gardens, the original location for Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films, is 15 miles away. A little further afield, the historic walled town of Berwick upon Tweed is 25 miles away. Closer to home, guests can stroll to the local pub which is just over 150 metres away.

The ground floor of this stunning property includes a double-height atrium which houses a comfortable dining area. The dual-aspect living area is spacious and stylishly furnished and is a wonderful space for relaxing and gathering. The kitchen includes original features including an inglenook fireplace housing the cooker, stained glass windowpanes and exposed stone walls. The snug, complete with a cosy wood burner, bookcase and TV, provides additional room for socializing, and the dining room, situated in the large entrance atrium, offers a sunny place to eat and catch up. A WC and utility room complete the ground floor. Wooden stairs lead to a stunning mezzanine galleried landing and the property’s three bedrooms. The bedrooms comprise a super-king-size, a king-size and a twin - all feature exposed beams, Velux windows and TVs, and the first two have en-suite shower rooms. The family bathroom, with a large bathtub for sinking into, completes the accommodation.

Outside, guests have access to a stylish courtyard garden, bordered by mature shrubs, garden furniture and a BBQ. The perfect spot for that first cup of coffee in the morning or a relaxed evening meal.

Lovely, homely cottage in a brilliant location. Great to have 2 sitting rooms which is unusual in a cottage of this size, one of which had an excellent library. Comfy beds and modern bathrooms to each bedroom. Amazing dining pub down the road.

Location is excellent, the harbour, pubs, restaurants and all the local amenities are 2 minutes walk. Cottage provides excellent access to the beaches. Kitchen is well stocked, fridge and freezer are sizable so plenty of storage. There a utility room and a separate hallway for keeping all outdoor gear. There are two lounges which are spacious and cRead moreomfortable (TVs in both). The en-suite facilities are good, there is a welcome pack of toiletries enough for a few days. The parking is to the side of the property and we fitted two cars. You can book boat trips from the harbour 2 mins away. We ate a most local places and the food was good and were dog friendly. Hide

Too many niggling problems throughout our stay, lack of control over heating being the main issue. We sat huddled in blankets to keep warm on Saturday night, not what your looking for in a house at this price. Probably the best accomodation we have stayed in, location is perfect but management lets it down.

If you like quirky and traditional then this is the property for you. If you prefer a more modern property then maybe look elsewhere. Extremely well positioned within easy walking distance of shops/restaurants/pubs. Parking for two family sized cars was very handy as there is no street parking near the property. Welcome packs in kitchen and bathrRead moreooms were excellent. The house was well equipped throughout but felt it was just in need of a little update and refresh. It was very spacious with plenty of room for 6 adults. The heating was tricky to alter and as a result we were very cold in the evenings but this was probably our fault as there were instructions in the manual we just couldn't manage to alter the timings. Overall we had a great stay and appreciate a property and owners that welcome our 3 dogs. Hide

Weve stayed at Begas Bead before so we know it well; its a lovely and comfortable house. I think that a bit more attention to detail would be good - the lack of dishwasher/washing machine tablets, foil or bin bags seemed silly, for instance. The yard/garden and outside furniture needed cleaning up, weeding etc - I appreciate that seagulls are a prRead moreoblem but I washed the furniture down when we arrived and it was still fine when we left, so I dont think its a waste of time.
