A cosy single-storey cottage in the charming fishing village of Seahouses in the Northumberland Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty is perfect for couples seeking a tranquil seaside break. The property is situated 45 metres from the harbourfront, with an array of restaurants and shops within 0.5 miles. Spend your time away at the idyllic sandy Seahouses Beach (1 mile) or jump on a boat and enjoy views of the village from the water – if you’re lucky, you might see some seals. Further afield there are plenty of scenic walks and wildlife at the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve (1 mile).

Walk across the cobblestone courtyard to reach the front door of the property. As you step inside, you’ll find yourself in a porch, where you can take off your shoes and make yourself feel at home. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is neutral-toned with a beamed ceiling and cottage-style windows. On one side of the room, there are two sofas which sit in front of the TV and electric wood burner. In front of the window, you’ll find the table and chairs, for romantic dinners together. The kitchen area is neatly positioned away from the lounge and dining area. It has wooden farmhouse-style surface tops and plenty of space for preparing and cooking a special meal. Continue into the compact shower room which has a shower cubicle and WC. Settle into your comfortable and elegant bedroom, with hints of a coastal theme, a beamed ceiling and a super-king-size bed.

At the front of the property, there is a shared courtyard area with a wooden bench. Fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco with your other half.

For a one bedroom apartment it is adequate if not spacious. The seating in the lounge was quite uncomfortable and did not look anything like the picture on the website. The position of the apartment is very good with everything in walking distance in the village.

Shockingly basic accomodation. Only one tiny sofa and a tiny TV on the wall. Made relaxing in the lounge almost impossible. No TV in the bedroom so couldnt watch TV in there either! Decent shower but very small bathroom.and kitchen area. Good location for accessing seahouses. Owner offered to refund money and leave but given that it was a bank Read moreholiday weekend and we had a dog we found it really difficult to find alternative accomodation for the following two nights of our break. If we could have found somewhere else we certainly would have. In the end we ended up staying as the alternative was to go home to Yorkshire and cut short our eagerly anticipated break to Northumberland. The accomodation but a dampner on our holiday but Northumberland is a stunning place to visit. The owner offered to give us a 20% discount in the end but this didn't detract from the huge dissapointment of the accomodation. Hide

My only complaint was that the freezer box in the fridge was 'iced up', which made it impossible to close the compartment door. In addition, the main light in the lounge was not working. However this did not cause any problems.
