This Grade II Listed cottage is situated in the pretty village of Wrentham, a five minute drive from the unspoilt beach of Covehithe on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and just ten minutes away from the Edwardian seaside town of Southwold.

Dressmaker's is full of character and has been renovated whilst retaining a wealth of original features in fireplaces, exposed beams and oak flooring. With four bedrooms, this spacious cottage is ideal for a large family or group of friends wishing to enjoy a short break or longer holiday not far from the coast.

The cottage features a large, open plan kitchen/dining area with dining table to seat nine as well as a lovely lounge with cosy wood-burner and downstairs WC. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms with one ensuite, a bunk bedded room and family bathroom. A second staircase leads to an attic bedroom with three single beds.  Please note that due to the age of the cottage, there are steps and changes of level between some of the rooms and some of the doorways are lower than modern doorways.

Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars and a pretty mature garden.

To the rear of the property is an area of land (not owned by the property) where there are very friendly rare breed goats and horse.

The enclosed garden is well planted and mature with a brick and cobbles patio area facing south west, with attractive garden furniture and is ideal for outside entertaining and a secure area with a front gate for young children and pet's.

The area:

Wrentham is a delightful village close to Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and with a good range of amenities including a village shop and post office, two pubs serving good food and fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway. Five nights away for four adults, five children and one baby over bleak half term break. Beautiful cosy house with a lovely feel, visited a few nearby places all local enough we could come home easily for lunch or dinner. Main stair treads are, characterfully, quite deep/ steep little ones need to take with caution. We had a great time altogether aRead morend would recommend for family getaways. Hide

Great cottage for a group of us, comfy and cosy with space for children to play and adults to relax. There was an eggy smell to the drains at times. We had some cleaning issues on arrival but these were resolved on the day.

This is a lovely cottage. Wonderful sunsets, comfy beds, great shower, dog safe garden and a lovely lovely holiday. The accommodation was generous in size and amenities - games to play, comfy seats, comfy clean beds and not far from Southwold. We loved it. Overall the cottage was very charming and well equipped. The Chinese just up the road was lovely and the short drive to Lowestoft was perfect. You are only a couple of minutes drive from a Morrisons and an Aldi too which is helpful. Although the cottage itself was quirky and decorated nicely, on arrival we did not feel that the cottage was particRead moreularly clean. This was disappointing as we were not able to access the property till 4pm so that it could be made ready. A welcome bag had been left with a few snacks which was a nice touch, however we could not find any information or a welcome pack. Eventually we found one under the coffee table which gave very outdated information. For instance it made reference to a cabin with games and TV which is obviously not there anymore. One of the biggest issues we had was the drainage smell coming from the bathroom when the taps were running, it was almost unbearable. We do appreciate that the cottage is old but it really did put a bit of a damper on our experience as every time you wanted a shower you were hit with the awful smell. Apart from this the cottage was big and we did have a nice week however for the money we paid we were disappointed. Hopefully these issues can be rectified in time for the new guests as the cottage itself could be a really nice space. Hide

Cottage is in a good general location but literally on the A12 so VERY noisy. There is no longer a cabin as stated. No bbq facilities. Generally well equipped. No washing line or pegs. Securable garden if have little ones. Beds could be more comfy. But overall a good place.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and is very homely. The rear of the garden is secure for children to play and the paddocks behind the garden offer a very pleasant view of countryside together with the two goats.

With a bit of attention to cleanliness and maintenance to the gardens our arrival would have been smoother. The property has great potential, despite it being on a main road (A12).
