This holiday cottage is one of a pair of converted barn conversions, hidden away in the beautiful Suffolk countryside in the grounds of Wolsey Farm, Yoxford, not far from the Suffolk Coast.  The grounds of the Wolsey Farm include 3 acres of grassland with a chicken run for our six chickens and visitors are welcome to walk in the grounds and visit the animals and soak up nature in the beautifully landscaped Prairie Garden.

This self-catering cottage has been carefully restored to preserve the original character of the former cart lodge and has lots of natural light. The living areas have been stylishly furnished and there is a wood-burning stove for cosy holidays throughout the colder months.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one with a 5' double bed and ensuite shower room, and the other bedroom with an ensuite with shower over the bath and zip and link beds which can be used as either a twin or double.

Living area:
Two-seater sofa and two armchairs.

The area

Yoxford, which is a mile away from the cottage by footpath or road, is well-served with a delicatessen and excellent 'corner shop'. Yoxford Antiques Centre and the peaceful wetlands of RSPB Minsmere are a short drive away and the Suffolk Heritage Coast at Dunwich and Aldeburgh is easily accessible.

Notes:

Plough Cottage can be hired together with Harrow Cottage next door for a group of eight people.

Bed linen, towels and all energy costs are included.

The cottage is centrally heated with wood-burner for extra warmth. One small bag of logs, kindling and firelighters is provided on arrival during the winter months (November-March). Further supplies can be purchased from the owners.

A communal freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are available in an adjoining building.

Pets are welcome but must be kept downstairs at all times. Please be aware that the owners of the cottages have two Labrador bitches and other livestock on the farm, namely a Kune Kune pig and four hens - at present.

There is a pond in the grounds of the farmhouse which is unfenced and the moat at the front of the farmhouse is also unfenced.  Guests are invited to walk their dogs around the field on the property and other walks from the cottages take visitors to the village and beyond through rolling countryside.

A great location for our break. Nice and remote, but still close to the areas we wanted to visit. Ideal for the Suffolk coast and also Sutton Hoo & Woodbridge. We had a very restful break and probably should have booked for 2w !!
