A wonderful, truly Suffolk, retreat awaits you here at Church Cottage in the charming village of Wangford. Ideally located near to the Suffolk coast and paired with the essential comforts and commodities, we think Church Cottage is a holiday cottage you’ll be longing to return to.
If you’re looking for a cottage brimming with character, then Church Cottage certainly ticks that box! Believed to date back to the 1600s, this is an authentic Suffolk cottage retaining many of its original features, with timber beams, inglenook fireplace and exposed brick. The charm of this cottage is fused tastefully with the modern aspects too; a contemporary kitchen ticks all the boxes for whipping up homecooked delights. This is a true home-from-home which has been lovingly furnished to make your holiday a perfect getaway.
The detached cottage is deceptively spacious and offers generous accommodation for six. On the ground floor, there is a beautiful sitting room to relax in, but the separate snug makes a great breakout space for a bit of quiet. The dining space is a well-equipped for sharing memories over dinner and a garden room offers views over the prettily planted courtyard. The walled space here is private and peaceful, perfect for enjoying those longer summer evenings and a bit of star gazing. With so much to pack in during your stay, you need the perfect spot to recharge your batteries and the three bedrooms on the first floor offer just that!
Church Cottage is ideally located to explore all that Suffolk has to offer, from coast to countryside! Wangford itself is a pretty village with friendly pubs, a well-stocked village grocery shop, and a beautiful church that can be seen from the cottage (hence the name). For days at the seaside, Southwold is just 3 miles away and can be easily reached using the regular bus service that runs from the village or travel inland along the River Blyth and visit the wildlife haven that is the tidal lagoon at Blythburgh. You will also find yourself conveniently positioned to enjoy the likes of the RSPB Minsmere, the surrounding Areas of Outstanding National Beauty, and networks of wonderful walks - there’s plenty of exploring to be done!
What we love about this property? Comfortable and convenient, Church Cottage is sure to make a stress-free stay for families, friends or couples… but leaving might not be quite so easy!
