A beautiful stone-built cottage located in Thwaite in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Cottage is full of character with beamed ceilings, stone inset and an open fire in a stone surround with oak shelf.  Sleeping up to four in two bedrooms the property benefits from a large wall mounted TV in the lounge and is within walking distance of the local cafe and pub, further amenities can be found in the nearby popular market town with its quirky shops, Dales pubs and tea rooms,  the Wensleydale Creamery is within walking distance from Hawes.

GROUND FLOOR:

Lounge:  One small step up. Two, two-seater comfortable sofa’s, pouffe, dining table and chairs, oak side tables large wall mounted Smart TV, DVD, inset bookshelves, open fire in feature stone surround, beamed ceiling, views over the fell from the window. Bluetooth speaker.
Kitchen: Electric hob, oven, grill, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer.
Under stairs: cupboard: Coat and boot storage.

11 steps up to first floor:

Bedroom 1: Single beds (can be Super-King on request), wardrobe with drawers, inset shelving storage, window seat, beamed ceiling. Stunning views over the Dale.
Bedroom 2: King-size bed, dressing table, wardrobe with drawers, window seat, beamed ceiling, views over the countryside beyond.
Bathroom:  P shaped bath with shower over, washbasin, toilet.

Pets:  Three pets welcome.
Parking: Parking outside the property on a first come first served basis, further free parking in the village 10 yards away on a first come first served basis.
Heating: Electric storage heating, open fire in the lounge (welcome pack of fuel provided).
Garden/Patio:  Small patio area to the front of the cottage enclosed with a low stone wall. Table and chairs with stunning views over the village and Dale beyond. 
Short Breaks: Available all year round.  
Notes: Towels are provided. Please note that this property does not allow smoking. Unlimited WiFi is available free of charge. Mobile phone signal is variable.  There is also secure cycle storage.
Shop:  0.1 miles   Pub:  0.1 miles.

Fabulous holiday cottage, our little boy loved it so did our dogs. Highly recommend here, away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough. A real home from home. We will definitely be back, its become a favourite holiday place for us as a family now.

This is a very well equipped, beautiful, cosy cottage in a wonderful location. We spend a lovely week over New Year with our 3 Labradors and had ample space for the 5 of us. The cottage was exceptionally clean and provided a really comfy place to relax at the end of the day. The welcome pack provisions for the fire lasted a couple of days which wasRead more ample as there are a lot of places within a few miles to get more. We had some very wet and cold weather but it didn't make any difference to our enjoyment of our stay, but did mean we had the fire going every night!! If you are not familiar with open fires, the heaters are great and can be easily regulated in each room. The cottage soon warms up! It took a bit of getting used to the induction hob but once we had tackled it, it was plain sailing :-) The information pack provided is really helpful and I would recommend spending a few minutes reading through it as it explains everything. The Keartons Hotel has recently reopened and the new owners are very friendly. Sadly, we did not make enough use of it but we will be returning to The Cottage for another wonderful break. Hide

This property was one of the best we have stayed in for comfort and being very well equipped. The finishes were lovely. All the little things like wooden coat hangers, kitchen rolls, extra toilet rolls. These are things that in our experience most rentals do not provide. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was good quality. It's a very Read morecosy home, the thick walls retain the heat. Just what you need on a snow covered December day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cottage. It was very well equipped and very comfortable too. A real home from home. It is situated in a beautiful area of Swaledale and we enjoyed numerous walks both locally and in neighbouring Wensleydale. A great holiday all round and we had wonderful weather too!

We really enjoyed our visit to The Cottage. It was cosy and well equipped with comfortable beds, nice hot water, good heating and a comfortable sofas. Everything it nicely maintained. Excellent equipped cottage with a very complete and usable kitchen. The beds were very good and the same goes for the sofas. TV set-up (digital) was also very pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this cottage wholeheartedly.

We had a week of very wet and windy weather during our New Year stay at The Cottage, but the house was always a warm and comfortable refuge from conditions outside.

The Cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Thwaite and the surrounding area is beautiful and great for walking. The website was fairly straightforward and we would certainly consider using again.
