We had a great short break. Every time we opened the door we heard the beautiful call of Curlews - magical. So many walks from the door or just a short drive. The view from the main bedroom with my morning cup of tea was perfect! The cottage had everything we needed. Our dogs thought it was great too! We would love to return.

Hands down one of the best cottages weve ever stayed in. The furnishings, accessories and appliances were high quality and the decor was amazing. The artwork is beautiful and we were trying to find the artist online. All the little extras made out stay wonderful. I Might have to break our family rule and return to this cottage again ! Thank you!

Great cottage for autumn half term, warm and cosy and nice to light a fire a couple of nights. (Thank you for the wood and fire lighters!) Absolutely beautiful artworks from local artists (see Yore Mill gallery) and decoration for Halloween, quirky and creative yet always comfortable. Two separate living areas with two TVs were good for different Read moreage groups, we used some of the DvDs, games and books too. Cosy dining area in the kitchen with lots of gadgets available (air fryer, coffee machine) and well equipped with cutlery and crockery (we cooked at home everyday) with useful dishwasher, washing machine and dryer too). V dog friendly with dog mats, bowls, high vis and spare poo bags - and dog could go out for a quick wee in the walled garden - thank you. We had a great week as a multi generational family with dog, doing both local walks and days out to Malham, Hardraw, Aysgarth and Leyburn (small one loved the chocolate factory) as well as Hawes (cheese! And Yorkshire curd tart) We were lucky to see the Northern Lights and lots of stars and Milky Way on clear night, and theres lots of bird life and animals around (dipper and kingfisher were highlights at Cotter Force, red squirrel in Cotterdale) Everything you could want for an autumn winter break and perhaps highest praise should come from small One, who said I love this cottage and was sad we had to go home! Had a very enjoyable week here. Cottage is comfortable and beautifully decorated. Good location for access to Wensleydale and Swaledale via Hardraw and Buttertubs. 4 adults, 2 children and 2x small dogs stayed for the NY in this beautiful spacious cottage with a 20minute walk to Hawes Village or 3 minutes in the car. Cottage catered for our needs in every way possible. Information was provided for everything you can do around the area - visit the Waterfall / Wensleydale Creamery. Bedrooms spacious with coRead moremfy beds. Enough room for everyone to be together and have time to chill out separately. Kitchen became the hub for meals and evening games and a gorgeous Livingroom to watch a bit of TV at the end of the day or wind down in front of the log fire in another separate room. Our only negative was the weather which couldn't be helped with the time of year. It rained non-stop and all the fields flooded - the lane from the cottage to the village is not lit and as we were unfamiliar with the roads - the roads flooded and we drove into the floods which appeared out of nowhere and had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade. An experience the kids won't forget! Overall, a well rested break with family. Hide
