Indulge in a relaxing stay at this gorgeous brick and flint cottage in the village of Castle Acre in West Norfolk. Sleeping up to four guests, the two-bedroom bolthole is a delightful character property with a pretty courtyard garden. Stroll to the village's famous priory ruins, which date back to the 11th century, and the walled castle that was built in the 12th century. Pick up the Peddars Way footpath, which passes through Castle Acre. Make a trip to see the 12th-century castle at Castle Rising, 14 miles away. Visit the Sandringham Estate, 14.5 miles from the cottage. Pack a picnic and head to Brancaster Beach, 20 miles away, to experience the flat, stretching sands and open skies Norfolk is renowned for.

Step inside to find inviting accommodation with an abundance of early 18th-century character. Sit back and enjoy the comfort of the beamed lounge/diner, where you can stoke up the wood burner in the red-brick chimney breast and find something to enjoy together on the Smart TV, which comes with a Sonos speaker and Netflix. Head through to the welcoming, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with all the equipment you need to whip up a home-cooked meal. A dishwasher and washer/dryer make clean-ups hassle-free. Enjoy a cup of coffee at the breakfast table in the kitchen as supper bubbles away, opening the door onto the garden on warm days. A lovely dining table sits in the lounge/diner. At the end of each adventurous day, make your way upstairs to either the delightful double bedroom or the comfortable twin. The family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and a WC, is also on the first floor.

Bask out in the sunshine of the courtyard garden during the warmer months while you enjoy a cup of tea. Light the BBQ out here too sometimes to enjoy a long, lazy supper as the sun goes down. Parking for this cottage is on the quiet lane, subject to availability.
