The Avocet is accessed down a private drive and has its own private entrance. It has a gentle ramp with handrail leading to the front door - making it accessible for wheelchair users.

Bedroom 1: Sleeps two and has a zip & link Super King/twin beds (Please specify at time of booking how you wish for the bed to be made up), with dressing table, chest of drawers, chair, and clothes hanging area.
En-suite bathroom: Bath and wet room shower and w.c. (fully equipped for those with disabilities)
Outside: Small enclosed garden with furniture and sitting area facing west.
Parking: Parking for 2 cars directly by the garden gate on the allocated gravel drive next to the fence with access to the front door.
Heating: Biomass boiler.
Notes: Wifi, bed linen and towels are provided. The Avocet is a small extension to Wardens Hall, where a range of activities takes place for young and elderly people often with disabilities. From time to time there may be occasional noise travel.
Pets: Dogs are welcome but please do not allow them on the furniture or beds and please clean up any dog mess.
Private access to beach, not accessible for wheelchair uses but can be accessed by road.
Accessibility: Situated at Wardens Hall, near Ness House and its two cottages, the Avocet has been thoughtfully designed to be as accessible as possible. With wide doorways and level thresholds, paired with low mounted kitchen appliances and foldaway kitchen table; the furniture and layout has been carefully planned. The bedroom for two comes complete with convenient en-suite bathroom and wet room shower. (additional equipment including riser chairs, a wheelchair, commode and single variable height profiling bed - can be hired on request at the time of booking).
The Avocet is situated one and a half miles south of the small fishing village Sizewell in the civil parish of Leiston on the heart of the Suffolk coastline. Peacefully tucked away, Sizewell has an amazing sandy beach running north to Dunwich with no dog restrictions, and is a perfect place for walking, picnicking or a spot of sea fishing. To the south of The Avocet, a mile, away lies the well known village of Thorpeness famous for its boating lake The Meare, the Country Club, Golf Course and The Dolphin pub. Beyond that is the ancient seaside town of Aldeburgh with its Lifeboat Station, fishing boats and fishing huts.
The situation makes it an ideal location for those looking to explore yet avoid the hustle and bustle of the main tourist honeypot sites.
