Located in the centre of the picturesque Lakeland village of Elterwater, the gateway to the iconic Langdale Valley, Anniversary Cottage is in the perfect location for those who require a well equipped and comfortable holiday cottage.

Anniversary Cottage has been transformed to create a luxurious home away from home, having been newly decorated with Little Greene Company paint, designer wallpaper and local Herdwick wool carpets. New lighting and artwork completes the interior and the owners have created a very warm, inviting and comfortable property.

Being a traditional stone bungalow, it's ideal for those who may need accommodation on one level. With mature, enclosed gardens and views of Lingmoor Fell from the living area, and covered veranda outside, this is a fantastic property with stunning views.

The living area consists of two comfortable sofas, a large smart TV and dual aspect windows overlooking the garden and fells beyond. There's also a lovely multi fuel burner for those evenings when only the atmosphere and flicker of a real flame will do. The dining table, seating six, is also in this very spacious room making it an ideal room to relax in after a day of exploring or walking.

From the living area there's a door that leads directly to the covered veranda and garden. With seating provided this is great place for you to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple whilst taking in the beautiful vistas of the Lakeland Fells. Please be mindful as there is a drop into the garden from the outside veranda, children and infants should be supervised at all times.

Anniversary Cottage has three spacious bedrooms, each tastefully decorated in complementary colours and wallpapers, and accessed from the central corridor. Two of the bedrooms have luxurious king size beds and the third is a twin room with two single beds and all have plenty of storage.

The galley style kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay: dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, double oven, induction hob, and all the accessories you could possibly need, including a slow cooker and a Nespresso machine. The owners of Anniversary Cottage take great pride in the cottage and this is reflected in the quality and thought that has gone into the accommodation.

The property has two bathrooms. The splendid family bathroom is located just off of the central hallway and it is complete with a WC, large walk-in shower, separate bath, dual fuel heated towel rail and underfloor central heating to keep you nice and snug. Additionally, just off the kitchen, there is a newly installed 2nd bathroom with WC, shower, heated towel rail and basin.

Anniversary Cottage also features the added bonus of a games room with a darts board, small pool table and fussball. This is the perfect room for those few rainy days we get in the Lake District.

The cottage is right in the centre of Elterwater village, with the iconic Britannia Inn only a 2-minute walk away. Chapel Stile, with it's general store and pub, is a 10 min walk. Slightly further afield you have the riverside footpath to Skelwith Force. The magnificent Langdale Valley with its endless walks, for all abilities, is easily accessible by foot or public transport with the bus stop only 30 metres away.

Anniversary Cottage is a fantastic well-equipped cottage in the perfect location for your Lake District break. Please be advised, neither a travel cot nor highchair are available at Anniversary Cottage.

Off street gated parking is provided for up to 3 cars. The garden is enclosed and includes a lockable shed for guests use.

We liked almost everything about the cottage and would certainly wish to stay again. The view from the dining table captivated us and was the particular feature we valued most - although carrying food and drinks there was a bit nerve-wracking (giving the damage deposit!) Well located and comfortable, what is not to like?

We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. Location is excellent - 50 yards from the Britannia Inn, down a quiet lane, overlooking fields and (in the distance) the Cumbria Way walk. Very well equipped. The small games room included an excellent table football, darts board, and pool table (that we didnt use)plus lots of books and board games. Beds Read morewere comfortable and rooms nicely furnished. The bathrooms have very good showers and modern sanitary ware. We needed the heating on for the odd hour in the evening and it was very efficient. A highlight is the living / dining room window that overlooks the fields - lovely to see walkers in the distance. And whilst this property is all on one floor (maybe useful for people with less mobility) it felt very spacious. Weve stayed in more luxurious cottages in the lakes, some bigger, but overall Id say Anniversary Cottage strikes a brilliant balance of location, character and thoughtfulness by the owner. We had a very minor issue with the heating on Day 1 of our stay (a Friday before the Bank Holiday) and the property support team were very responsive with good communication, and the issue was fixed the following day - all holiday properties can develop faults but this service was so good it deserves special mention. Highly recommended. Hide

Fabulous cottage in a great location near the cosy Britannia Inn. We had quite a bit of rain during our stay, improved by the comfort and views across fields, the wet souls trudging the Cumbria Way, and hills from the lounge. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous week at Anniversary Cottage. The bungalow is one of the best equipped places we have ever been to. Loved the slow cooker. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking at home which we tend to do. Comfortable lounge with inviting log burner. It would have been a lovely gesture to Include a baskets of logs, kindling and firelightRead moreers to start us off. Bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage and beds were comfortable. A minor gripe was the water and central heating system as we ran out of water for evening showers if any were taken in the morning and had to remember to boost the immersion heater in the afternoon for enough hot water. We also went in a really cold spell and couldnt adjust the heating so had to phone through for support as the house became cold very quickly after it went off. It is set to come on 3 times a day which was ok once outside temps increased but flexibility to change without phoning for help would have been helpful. Space for several cars to park off road which is an advantage for this village as it does get busy. Fabulous location for walks from the doorstep straight into the Great Langdale valley with walks to Skelwith Bridge and Loughrigg tarn close by. 2 mins walk from fab pub - Britannia Inn which is cosy, welcoming and serves great food. Overall would definitely recommend return. Hide
