Rose Cottage is a Traditional Dales cottage with small walled gardens situated at the heart of the idyllic village of Caldbergh in Coverdale. Close to the market towns of Middleham and Leyburn, this charming stone cottage with exposed stone walls and wooden beamed ceiling has been tastefully refurbished and modernised to a high standard. Rose Cottage with its 3 bedrooms, 2 large separate reception rooms, modern granite worktop kitchen, utility room, 2 bathrooms (one with bath), and separate boot room with space for bicycles, provides spacious, comfortable, and relaxed accommodation suitable for couples, families, and small groups.

Rose Cottage provides a peaceful retreat. Drive just over 1 mile, across Cover bridge at Coverham Abbey to the Saddle Room pub and restaurant and the Forbidden Corner. On foot, cross the River Cover via one of the various foot bridges of St Simons’, Bird Ridding, and Hullo’s, there are many circular walks from the cottage taking in the local pubs and restaurants including The Saddle Room, The Blue Lion (East Witton), The Forester’s Arms (Carlton), and the Wensleydale Heifer (West Witton). Alternatively, picnic by the river, or at Pinker’s Pond with its stunning views down the dale and across to Penhill.
Coverdale is a well-kept secret, and, with its lush green pastures and dry-stone walls, it is one of the most peaceful and prettiest of the Dales. On discovering Coverdale, James Herriot was prompted to say,
‘I suddenly found myself in wonderland’.
