This barn is in Harbottle, where you’ll find a pub, a castle and paths taking you alongside the river, onto the moors, to local sites of druidic significance, and through the national park. Rothbury lies 8 miles away, a picturesque market town where you’ll find more pubs, plus shops and restaurants. The surrounding area is filled with castles and national trust properties, plus hiking, biking, fishing and rock-climbing opportunities.

This quirky little cottage is compact but thoughtfully designed to make the most of the space. The ground floor contains an open-plan living area with a sofa, easy chair, a well-equipped kitchen and a folding dining table and chairs, so you can utilise as much space as possible. Also on the ground floor is a shower room and a handy utility area with a washing machine, drying rack and microwave. Climb the twisting wooden stairs to the mezzanine level to find the bedroom. This romantic room features a double bed, sloping ceilings, and a Velux skylight allowing you to enjoy the night sky as you drift off to sleep. Wooden steps lead out of the bedroom to the garden.

The outside space at this property is lovely. Lovely little cottage for a relaxing week away. . Anne is a very welcoming and helpful host. The summer house is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast and a glass of wine in the evening whilst enjoying the views of the countryside. I would definitely go there again.

Bonny Barn is in a beautiful location. It is ideal for a week away for two. Perfect for both coast and inner Northumberland. You will need to drive everywhere but roads pretty good. Lovely local pub too. We had a lovely time in this and would happily go back.

Bonny Barn is set in a beautiful location in the Northumberland National Park. The property is well maintained, clean and has all the required comforts and amenities. Ann is very welcoming and does a great job of looking after the guests, the dwelling and the gardens. The sun room is just the icing on the cake.

A lovely stay and an unusual, though pleasant welcome from the owner with tea & biscuits. The Cottage is well thought out for such a small space and pleasantly warm. The gardens are beautiful but there is no private area for the cottage and no gate at the end of the drive to the road.
