The Old Boathouse is an upside down holiday home with a history, as it was used in the 1950’s by well-known Norfolk family, the Emery brothers, who built fishing boats for the local community. Now a comfortable holiday home, the open plan living room with its beams and balcony with sea views, will draw you happily into your coastal surroundings. The bedrooms downstairs are a cosy double and a family bedroom with bunk beds for young pirates and a spacious king size for captains of the crew – perfect for high days and holidays but which also suit groups of friends holidaying together at any time of the year. The property comes equipped with beach equipment and there is off street parking for two cars. Located just metres from the sea wall, it is an easy walk to the beach and seafront, perfect for lazy summer days or wintry walks with the dog. There are two pubs, literally on the doorstep and the high street with numerous shops and cafés is a short walk away. Sheringham is famous for its steam railway that has a beautiful run along the coast to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, which makes an alternative day out from the coast with its antique and art galleries, food hall, café culture and independent shopping. Sheringham is a thriving seaside resort on the popular north Norfolk coast that has something to offer all year round. Tennis, golf, sea fishing, the beach, its own Little Theatre and the National Trust's Sheringham Park are just some of the local attractions. Discover the coastal footpath, which is part of the National Coast Path and takes you to Cromer in the east and Salthouse and beyond in the west. Visit the sandy beaches of Cromer, with its famous pier and shows, or travel a little south to the beaches at West Runton, East Runton, Overstrand or Mundesley, for miles of sand and not many people! The famous Poppy Line Steam Railway runs from the town centre along the coast to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, with its numerous boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, for a great day out and there is a main line train that can take you to Norwich for a day of cultural sightseeing, shopping and a super restaurant selection. Ornithologists can enjoy a trip to the marshes and Norfolk Wildlife Trust centre at Cley-next-the-Sea and if you want to visit the largest common and grey seal colony in this part of the world, take a trip from either Blakeney or Morston quays. There are some delightful historic houses in the area at Felbrigg and Blickling, run by the National Trust and with so much to do in the area one visit is probably not going to be enough.

Lovely compact space but comfortable enough for two double beds. Sitting room and kitchen well laid out and equipped. You may need to go out of Sheringham to find a decent pub, we did and our stay was lovely

Excellent position in Sherringham including for parking but only for one car on premises not two. Lots to do within very easy access, including shopping and eating. We expected a better welcome pack including fresh milk and felt a slight refresh of some items in the property was due.

This was our first visit to Sheringham & on viewing/booking 'The Boat House' we were not disappointed with our accommodation. It certainly has the 'WOW' factor from pulling up outside, to entering the property & reaching the top of the stairs to the lounge area, which is an excellent open space with plenty of light flooding in through the balconyRead more doors. This just draws you to the Balcony which is great place for 'people watching', especially as were here for the 1940's weekend. The location is perfect & has the added bonus of it's own parking spot. We loved our time here, so much so that we have booked a return in September 2025 Hide

Pleasant and roomy holiday cottage, benefiting from views of the sea via spacious balcony. Nice location for access to town and seafront. Recommend steam train to Holt. Bonus was parking underneath.
