The Old Brewery House in Orford dates back to the 16th century, Tudor period, and is now available as a pet friendly self-catering holiday home. This historic property has many period features throughout including a wealth of beams, a traditional wooden staircase, original floor boards, plaster pargeting and an inglenook fireplace. This four-bedroom property is ideal for up to eight guests and would work well for a couple of families or group of friends. The generous living area is the perfect space for entertaining with its large comfortable seating area surrounding the cosy woodburner and the separate dining area, ideal for dinner parties. There is also a handy snug room, which is great for children and could provide the grownups with some peace and quiet. The fully equipped kitchen is there for you to cook up a storm with some local food produce. The famous Pinney’s of Orford and Pump Street Bakery located just around the corner. Orford also has a fantastic general store where you can find most essential items. Fresh fish is available from 'Brinkley's Shed' and Pinney's Shop 200m away beside the Quay. There is a butchers shop in Bakers Lane as well as the Village Stores in Front Street. Outside the property is a pretty and rustic style garden with view across the marshes towards Shingle Street. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with garden furniture and a barbeque and on a warm summer’s day is just perfect for some alfresco dining. Shop: 200m Pub: 50m

Fabulous Suffolk cottage - perfect location in Orford - everything within walking distance from the quayside with its lovely tearoom, the two pubs (thoroughly recommend the Seafood chowder in the Jolly Sailor) and the wonderful Pump St Bakery. Parking for two cars and a lovely garden that can be kept secure for dogs. Weather was variable, so the lRead moreog fire was welcome on a couple of nights (in June!). Plenty of room for a family of 5 plus Uncle and Aunt and two dogs. Thoroughly recommended for a peaceful and relaxing break in a lovely Suffolk village. Hide

We had the most amazing time at the Old Brewery House. The hosts, Nick and Pauline, were so lovely and accommodating - their suggestion to have breakfast at the tearoom by the Quay was super helpful. The house itself was gorgeous and there was ample parking. The area is perfect for a weekend away. Some lovely little shops, the castle is really iRead morenteresting, and theres easy walks by the river. For a longer stay, you could take a short drive to Sutton Hoo. In all, we had a wonderful time. Huge thank you to Nick and Pauline. Hide

We had a lovely stay at the cottage as a family. The house is very comfortable - enough space for everyone, good sunny bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, views from the house and the garden - peerless. Highly recommend for a large family or a group of friends.

A large property with genuine history, (parts of it date back to the 16th century,) and which oozes character. The location, so close to Orford Quay and even closer to The Jolly Sailor pub, is spot-on. The property sleeps six with ease, two four-poster beds being the doubles, and eight at a pinch if the last two are happy to climb and descend a verRead morey steep stair up into the roof-space. The garden is spacious, but is not secured adequately enough to allow one's dogs to roam sans lead. (ie. There is no gate across the entrance driveway.) Hide
