This is a traditional stone-built cottage in the popular coastal town of St Ives with its thriving art scene, excellent restaurants, cafes, artisan bakeries and independent stores. This delightful cottage is in the heart of Downalong, a 1-minute walk from the beach and the Tate Gallery. This popular holiday home is a great option for a family holiday and a great base from where you can get out and about and explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. Head the short distance along the coast to Carbis Bay, just 2 miles away. It’s a gentle walk along good footpaths and follows the railway line; the views of St Ives Bay are fantastic! 4.5 miles away is the pretty granite village of Zennor, again you can follow the South West Coast Path (or travel by car if you prefer). This charming village is steeped in folklore and the famous author, D.H. Lawrence wrote a number of poems and essays here. If you’re in St Ives, you have to visit Land’s End, 18 miles. This is one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes in the country. Follow the cliff paths and look out for the resident basking sharks, dolphins and seals along the way.
This pretty, stone cottage is typical of St Ives with its lovely, welcoming exterior. From the garden path, climb 6 steps up to the front door. Step into the hallway and on into the spacious open-plan ground floor living area comprising a lounge with sofas (one of which is a 4ft 6 sofa bed), a 40" TV, a light and airy dining space and a well-equipped kitchen for all your self-catering needs. Back into the hall, stairs take you to the first floor where you will find the bedrooms – a master double that comes complete with an en-suite shower room and a second family room with a small double bed and bunk beds. There’s also an additional family shower room.
Outside, there is a small bench at the front of the property to enjoy a cup of tea.
