The panoramic vistas from a spacious Victorian house above the seaside village of Porthleven are an attractive feature of this holiday home which is ideal for a large family or group of friends. The property is very close to a pretty bucket-and-spade beach, shops, restaurants and pubs, while Loe Bar (1.5 miles) combines a freshwater lake with a quiet and beautiful stretch of sand. Children and adults alike will enjoy the seal sanctuary at Gweek (8 miles) and the Helston Heritage Steam Railway (5 miles). Enjoy the atmospheric medieval gardens at the National Trust’s Godolphin Estate (5 miles) and be sure to climb the top of Godolphin Hill for a splendid view of West Cornwall, from St Ives Bay to St Michael’s Mount.

Following an extensive refresh, this beautifully presented property combines boutique luxury with a warm relaxed charm. Its stylish interiors, carefully curated soft furnishings and enviable views make it a stand-out destination in Porthleven. The cosy ground-floor lounge has a large bay window and window seat with views over the property’s terrace and coastal garden, the harbour and out to sea. Two comfortable two-seater sofas, an accent chair, and an antique coffee table chest add character. The room is styled with natural wool drapes, and layered with richly coloured velvet throws, soft wools blankets, sheepskin rugs, and plush cushions – all brought together within a warm, earthy palette of cinnamon, amber, sea blue and terracotta, that creates a sense of understated luxury. The Smart TV offers streaming services such as Netflix and Prime, but guests will need to login to their own accounts. The stylish kitchen has everything needed for a self-catering holiday and leads through to the dining area with a fine oak table and wishbone chairs sitting over a hand-loomed Kilim rug. In this area you will find lots of books and games to borrow. This floor also features a luxurious bathroom with a roll-top bath. Upstairs is home to three wonderful bedrooms. The master bedroom is a beautifully positioned, large room with dual-aspect windows and a generous window seat, providing you with front-row views across the harbour, out to sea and towards Porthleven’s iconic clock tower. A statement king-size sleigh bed is dressed in natural fibre velvet throws and cushions and set upon a beautiful soft rug, with a soft sheepskin beside the bed for added comfort underfoot. Storage is provided by a spacious tall boy for clothing and a dressing table with drawers beneath. Next up is the welcoming twin, followed by a small but cosy single bedroom that’s ideal for a child or teenager. Coastal-inspired striped soft furnishings create a cheerful fun feel while a dedicated hanging space with an overhead shelf provides convenient storage for clothes and belongings. A stylish shower room with walk-in shower completes the layout.

Outside, a large terrace to the front has patio furniture and splendid sea and harbour views. A side patio leading from the kitchen has a useful outdoor shower for beach days. There is unrestricted on-street parking on the street below the property and pay and display parking is available in the nearby public car parks.

The Anson is a fantastic property with the most amazing view out over the harbour and the sea. It is spacious and roomy for 6 people. We had such a fabulous holiday enjoying the house and all that Porthleven has to offer. We hope to return soon.

Comfortable, well equipped cottage in possibly the best location in Pothleven. Had to force ourselves away from the terrace each day and could have easily spent the week sat just there watching the life of the harbour. Very pleasant lounge as well, for when the weather closes in.

Cottage is in a lovely position overlooking the harbour but the inside would definitely benefit from a refurbishment.

The sea is so clear you could see the bottom of the harbour when the tide went out. It was very dog friendly with the enclosed front patio, our dog loved watching everything that was going on. Hide
