"Possibly the best rented accommodation we have ever experienced with the bonus of helpful and kindly owners". - Michael Wilson
Tucked away in a peaceful lane in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, the ‘Chicken Shed’ is a welcome antidote to the strains and stresses of urban life. Newly constructed on the site of a former chicken shed, this single storey building offers modern, and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 looking to explore, or simply relax in, this delightful area of East Anglia. Centrally located within 8 miles of the historic market town of Diss, it offers easy access to the Suffolk coast (Aldeburgh is 40 minutes drive), the wonderful cathedral cities of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds (both 35 minutes) and Newmarket, ‘Headquarters’ of Horseracing and its world famous racecourses (45 minutes). Bressingham Steam Museum, with its miniature steam trains, is within 30 minutes drive, as is Banham Zoo, and Framlingham, with its imposing castle is less than 20 minutes.
The Chicken Shed has a wonderful open plan living area with glorious high ceilings; windows and French doors flood the space with natural light, whilst antique furniture makes this space inviting and utterly charming. The two bedrooms are of good size, with a family size wet room and separate shower and loo in the utility room, serving the second bedroom.
Opening onto a two acre meadow which is an ideal recreational area for dogs or children, the Chicken Shed is situated some thirty metres from the owners’ farmhouse, and has a private entrance and driveway. Keen walkers and nature enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the nearby bridle path, leading through to Bedingfield, or the lane that leads to the village of Occold; why not treat yourself to a refreshing pint of Suffolk ale in the Beaconsfield Arms after a gentle walk of less than a mile! A bit further afield is the Swan at Hoxne, a wonderful old coaching inn, or the Victoria at Earl Soham, which serves local Earl Soham Brewery beers. For wedding guests, the Chicken Shed is just a short drive from The Oaksmere (12 minutes), Yaxley Hall (13 minutes), Kenton Hall Estate (14 minutes) and Crows Hall (19 minutes).
For a restful stay in peaceful surroundings, or as a base for exploring this unspoilt part of rural East Anglia, the Chicken Shed will be just what the doctor ordered! Nearest Pub: 0.9 miles, Shops: 3.1 miles.
