A coastal home of dreams... that's what you'll find at Velsheda. Newly constructed and finished with the holidaymaker in mind, Velsheda combines iconic black external wood cladding (sympathetic of its' central Thorpeness position) with all the mod-con's a 21st century guest could possibly need for their next self-catering holiday on the Suffolk coast. Deceptively spacious, Velsheda is ideal for families, friends or couples looking to escape to a hidden gem. Both the sitting room and kitchen/diner have large bi-folding doors leading out to the enclosed rear terrace - ideal for summer entertaining, whilst also helping to create a relationship with the outside world. The kitchen itself is an amateur cooks' dream. Plenty of cupboards wait to be filled with locally sourced groceries, whilst the large fridge/freezer is ideal for storing anything from ice-cream to prosecco!
Upstairs, guests have the benefit of two en-suite bedrooms. Each with the capability of being a superking, Bedroom 2 also has the option of being made into a twin, should you require separate beds. Not forgetting teenage or 'tech-savvy' guests, there is also WiFi and a SONOS sound system to enjoy!
A stay in Thorpeness is ideal for anyone looking for a car free holiday. Park your car on the private driveway and start about exploring on foot! The beach is a 2 minute walk from the cottage, not forgetting the local pub, golf course, tennis courts, Meare and cafe's. Don't forget to pack bicycles for a gentle cycle to nearby Aldeburgh or merely along the surrounding country lanes.
So as you can see, Velsheda truly is ideal for all. This modern retreat won't hang around for long, so book quickly to reserve your dates! Shop: 2.5 miles Pub: 200 yards.

Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright. The mock Tudor style of building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Mere - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly sandy and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land.
