Avalon is a superb two bedroom single storey bungalow in the quiet residential area of Furzeham and only a half hour walk or ten minute car drive in to the heart of Brixham. This picturesque fishing town is a hive of activity all year round and host to many annual festivals including the famous Pirate Fest, one of the largest gathering of Pirates that one will ever see! If peace and tranquility is what you are seeking, then walk the half hour scenic route to the beautiful Churston Cove, a sanctuary of calmness on this sand and shingle beach surrounded by thick woodland and crystal clear sea. Whatever your age, there is an abundance of activities locally or travel further a field to discover Kingwear by steam train or Dartmouth by ferry over the River Dart. One thing to be certain, your stay at Avalon will provide you with the ideal base.

This newly renovated bungalow has been recently fitted with a integrated kitchen with brand new appliances and offers clean, modern living. There is a generous sized living and dining room with a lean to conservatory overlooking the walled garden with seating area. The two bedrooms are conveniently next to the two bathrooms, one with a shower room, wc and hand basin and the other with a wc/hand basin. Conveniently, if you wish to hand wetsuits or place outdoor goods, guests have access to the garage/boot room. There is parking for one vehicle and to place a dinghy or small rib if you wish to head to the sea (subject to size checks). There is also a high chair, and travel cot at the property for those with young children.

Kitchen: Ceramic induction hob, Electrolux grill and oven, Zanussi fridge freezer, Zanussi washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.

Lounge/Dining room: Sony 42'' TV with full definition Blue Ray 3D playback to use with Skype and wifi certified. DVD/Blue ray disk player.

Family Bathroom: Shower cubicle with thermostatic jet shower, hand basin, w.c.

WC room: wc and hand basin.

Bedroom 1: Double (4'6") bed, floor to ceiling wardrobe one with a full length mirror door, two bedside tables and lamps. 

Bedroom 2: 2 Single (3') beds, one bedside table, floor to ceiling wardrobes one with a full length mirror door, one bedside lamp.  

Storage area/garage (not for car use)

 

Garden: Front garden with shrubs, walled rear garden with feature flower beds, table and chairs, coal bbq (please provide your own coal) 

Parking: Parking on driveway for one car, parking for an additional kerbside for small dinghy or rib

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Power and Heat: Gas and electricity are included in rent. 

Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided (please bring your own beach towels)

Lovely bungalow, well equipped with games, toys and dvds for all the family. Plenty of space for a family to move around. Very comfortable too. Will hopefully be using Avalon again in the near future.

Had a lovely 5 nights at Avalon although theres room for improvement. Pros; Off road parking, good size bungalow, location good, well equipped. Cons; Garden not suitable for our 2 year old to play in which is a shame as it was wasted space. Bungalow not cleaned well enough. Skirting boards/edges of carpet dusty. Had to move a bedside table fRead moreor my sons monitor which clearly hadnt been moved for a very long time. Crumbs in utensil drawer. Requested high chair upon booking - Took me half hour to find it (under a single bed) and was thick of dust which I dont think is acceptable. Luckily there was a hoover in one of the cupboards so had to use that before wiping it clean to be able to use. Shower is very small and leaky/noisy/not very powerful. Husband is quite broad and struggled to fit in. This being said, would stay again dependant on price, but cleaning needs improvement. Hide

The property is comfortable and in a good location, but it is let down by the WiFi and Shower. With four people in the property, the WiFi was so slow. Router reboots did nothing to improve the situation. The shower needs fixing as well, with the controls leaking water down the wall rather than getting the water up to the shower head. The garden was full of weeds. The shower was extremely dated, leaked and made the most awful noise in use! The silicone around it is very black and mouldy. Walls and doors had been painted very patchily. The lampshade in the main bedroom is absolutely thick with dust and there were old cobwebs.

hi everything was as stated .tv great and settees very comfortable. could not find any thing to moan about i read thew visitors book and cannot believe what people do moan about regards mrs gay daniels
