Tucked away in a secluded position in the very heart of the Suffolk village of Snape, The Annexe is a cosy single floor bolthole for couples or friends. Nestled within the owners garden, The Annexe has been sympathetically furnished to maximise it's bijou size. Surrounded by the lovingly-tendered cottage garden, The Annexe looks out onto a small courtyard from the living area - really bringing the outside in. With clever storage solutions, this heavenly hideaway is just waiting for a party of two.

Ideally located for enjoying the delights of Snape Maltings - you can walk there within 10 minutes, down the hill. What better way to enjoy the Snape Proms, Aldeburgh Festival or merely a concert, than not having to fight for a parking space on site! This also makes The Annexe ideal for travelling musicians who may be performing at the Maltings. Snape itself also has three charming pubs - you really will be spoilt for choice. Walkers and birdwatchers will love it here. Don't forget to explore the Sailor's Path; it will take you from Snape to Aldeburgh via the estuary, an ideal daytime activity to be enjoyed at least once during your stay. If walking is not your bag, you can arrive at the shingle shore of Aldeburgh within a 10 minute drive - you too can take in the colourful houses and sample those famous fish and chips!

So what's the delay? For a tranquil self-catering holiday just a stone's throw from the Suffolk coast, look no further than The Annexe. Pub: 200 yards, Shop: 0.9 miles. Newspaper: 0.9 miles.

The Suffolk village of Snape is perhaps best known as home to Snape Maltings, but the village itself is charming and dates back over 2000 years. At the head of a tidal estuary the Romans set up here with producing salt from the water of the estuary as their main trade. The village also has great Anglo-Saxon relevance – two burial boats and many graves have been discovered here. In more recent times, the Maltings that dominate the village were built in the 1800s by entrepreneur Newson Garrett and were used to malt Barley that was send on barges to London and exported to mainland Europe. The Maltings traded for over 120 years and in 1965 when the buildings had fallen into disuse, they were adopted by Benjamin Britten, whose vision lead to the creation of Snape Maltngs Concert Hall. Today, visitors to Snape can enjoy a wonderful village atmosphere, shopping and eating at the Maltings and for those who enjoy walking, The Sailors Path is a wonderful 6-mile route between Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh. Suffolk Secrets funded restoration work to this route in 2014 which passes through salt marshes and along the banks of the River Alde.
