Reydon is the neighbouring village to the seaside town of Southwold – the two are divided by Buss Creek, a narrow stretch of water where the fishing boats (busses) of the past used to tie up. Reydon is a charming village which has expanded over the years and has become very popular with holidaymakers and second home-owners due to its proximity to Southwold. There is a foothpath leading from the Lowestoft Road directly to the seafront which only takes ten minutes to walk. Reydon has the added advantage of two village shops, a health centre (recently re-located from Southwold), a village hall and The Randolph Hotel which is popular with the village locals. Reydon offers lots of great walks, cycle routes and in spring time Reydon Woods Nature Reserve is a must-see with its gorgeous spread of bluebells. The village also offers good links to the village of Blythburgh and Kessingland.

We had a really lovely stay here. Property was perfect for all ages, in particular for my mother with mobility issues. Very easy for her to get around and lots of space for our whole family. We thought it was of a very high standard and extremely comfortable, clean and cosy.

Sailors Retreat is a beautiful place to stay. The four double bedrooms are all very comfortable. The living space is more than adequate for 8 people. Often you feel a property would be more suited to less guests but there is plenty of room for 8 adults here! Off road parking for three SUVs was a breeze. Location wise, you are a twenty minute walRead morek from the heart of Southwold and its shops, pubs and restaurants. Closer to home and just a 5 minute walk is the Randolph Hotel, a very nice pub and restaurant that offers all the usual Adnams fare and great place to spend an evening. Hide

Beautiful decor, high spec kitchen & plenty of room. Great location & fully equipped. Unfortunately, there was an issue with smell from drains in en-suite bathrooms & cleanliness of shower heads. However, I would recommend this property to anyone if those issues are addressed.

The property is perfect for a family holiday with a range of ages as it is all on one level. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms and there is a great living room space plus large kitchen diner space. Lovely garden if you stay in spring or summer. Easy walk into southwold and lots of places of interest within 30 minutes drive.

A gorgeous house that we all wanted to live in permanently!!! Absolutely perfect for 7 adults. The large lounge had ample sofas, the kitchen dining area was very modern and had everything we needed. Everyone said the beds were comfortable and we all slept well. The garden is lovely, though we didnt use it due to cold wet weather in October. SecRead moreure parking on the ample driveway was welcomed, especially as there was road works outside the property ( no noise from this though). The house is about a mile from the centre of Southwold and an easy walk, as is the beach. Super location. Very quiet at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Sailors retreat. A couple of suggestions would be to have a couple of dishwasher tablets provided. Also to sort out the smell from the Jack and Jill bathroom. We tried all sorts of things to combat the smell but think there may be a drainage issue. These were minor issues. This is the most stunning place Ive stayed in and Ive stayed in many holiday lets! Generally speaking the bungalow was ideal with plenty of equipment, although only supplying one toilet roll per bathroom for a week was a bit annoying. The loft hatch opening on its own in the middle of the night was dangerous and did damage the wall, but the staff dealt with the problem immediately and courteously.
