Ideal locality. Very comfortable and welcoming. We only ate breakfast so can't comment on cooking facilities. Dining area ideal for playing board games in the evening and lounge very comfortable.

If the house was deep cleaned and the crockery/glassware replaced then, with a bit of care and maintenance we could certainly recommend this house in Leyburn.

Very warm and comfortable house and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was provided. Great showers, and lovely fluffy towels. Good location for great walks.

It is a very spacious, light and bright property in an excellent location. 5 minutes to walk into the town centre and there are some nice walks from the door step. The kitchen is well equipped and has lovely dinnerware, glasses, etc. and plenty of them. However, some of the small kitchen appliances could do with replacing. The back garden area is nRead moreice, too although there is no gate securing the garden,(helpful info for anyone with young children.) Hairdryers are provided in each of the bedrooms. Even though the property is on one of the main roads in and out of Leyburn and is also directly opposite a secondary school, this did not pose any problems at all for us during our stay. There was no traffic congestion at school times. This could be a fabulous holiday home but the lack of general maintenance and the lack of deeper cleaning lets it down. Shame on the previous guests who left the fridge in the state it was upon our arrival, and shame on the cleaner who clearly didn't check it and clean it before our stay. Totally unacceptable! We chose not to use the ensuite shower during our stay as after the first use we realised that the water goes out onto the floor and is clearly leaking through the ceiling downstairs. Not ideal to have one shower between 4 guests. As it stands, we would not choose to stay in the property again unless the issues we encountered were put right. Suggestions for improvements have been given to the owners and it is meant as constructive criticism so I hope it is taken as such. Hide

Mount House is clean, comfortable and in a good location. Although it is described as family friendly it did not provide a cot or high chair. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs but it is of the pressure fit type and really not secure enough to rely on. We found it to be more of a hazard to be negotiated with a young child. The kitchenRead more is well equipped. The welcome pack includes everything for tea and biscuits, a small tube of washing up liquid, some sachets of washing detergent, a J Cloth, small sponge and two small tablets of hand soap. As there are four sinks in the property a couple more pieces of soap would have been appreciated. Absolutely nothing else is available, not even a grain of salt or pepper. Mount House is a very attractive property, the management company is excellent and it has a lot to recommend it, but for us it fell short of its description as family friendly. Hide

Lovely clean, comfortable and modern property. Shame not to have a dishwasher, but it felt luxurious to have 2 bathrooms plus a downstairs loo. Convenient location for exploring the northern Dales. It's on the edge of a town, so you don't get rural seclusion, but you do get amenities within 10 minutes' walk. Both the Co-Op and R. Cambells superRead moremarkets were larger than expected and well stocked. There are a decent selection of churches, pubs and tea shops. The Shawl has the most picturesque playground that we have ever visited. We also enjoyed Aysgarth Falls, Middleham Castle, the Wensleydale Creamery and some nice walks with a bit of wildlife. Hide
