Mount Rose is a large detached family house sleeping 12 and 4 pets. Its elevated position takes advantage of the stunning views across the valley and towards the sea.  A brisk downhill walk, or few minutes’ drive, brings you down into the village of Woolacombe with its 3 miles of award winning golden sands, magnificent surf and variety of family friendly shops, cafes and pubs. For ventures further afield, the wild expanse of the Exmoor National Park offers a dramatic and picturesque environment where flora and fauna co-exist. If you are fortunate you might well spot Exmoor ponies, herds of the famous Red Deer or even a stag.  Pretty villages in and around Exmoor are great for exploring and in many you will find quaint tea shops offering tempting refreshments.

With large gardens, balconies and a choice of indoor seating areas Mount Rose provides plenty of space for everyone.  A sloping driveway and steps lead up to the entrance on the first floor.  The main living room is on this floor to take advantage of the stunning country and sea views. Here everyone can relax on comfy sofas or open the floor-to-ceiling bi-focal doors and enjoy views from the large decked balcony. A cosy wood burner in the living room means everyone can snuggle up on cooler evenings.   There are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom with separate walk-in shower on this floor. The lower level has an open plan layout which is light and spacious with a high quality, well equipped kitchen, dining area and snug. A large dining table with seating for 12 allows everyone to enjoy meal times together.  There is also a cloakroom on this floor. The six bedrooms are shared between the first and 2nd floors. On the first floor you will find a double with patio doors to the garden and two twin bedded rooms.  The remaining bedrooms which are on the floor above comprise a king with private balcony with sea views and en-suite shower room, a further king also with private balcony and a twin bedded room with Juliet balcony overlooking the garden. This floor also has a shower room.

There’s a great choice of outside space for everyone to find their own place of relaxation be it on one of the three large balconies, the fully enclosed tiered garden at the back of the property with patio and garden furniture or the additional patio area. A garage is provided for 1 car and also has room for storing surfboards and bicycles. Additional driveway parking is available for 3 cars.

This is a perfect property and location for families or groups of friends to spend relaxed time together with the bonus of easy access to three miles of a glorious sandy, surfing beach and local facilities within walking distance.

We took my family for a week to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. The house was in walking distance to the beach and a five minute drive to Golden Bay which had a bowling alley and entertainment. The house was lovely it had everything there, we needed. Plenty of space, it was clean there was game for the teenagers and our four year old grandRead moreson. Lovely house for large group .The balcony was great for us to sit out on and the sunsets are amazing. Down side with young children you have to drive to the beach .pulling out of the drive is pretty tricky as you can not see and the road is pretty busy. Also the drive is very steep which was a problem for one of the cars which is a low.

I booked the house at the beginning of August for seven nights and was very impressed with the look of the house and the spectacular views that you have from the front patio and the balconies of the upper rooms. It comfortably sleeps twelve persons and has different sitting areas that you have room for everyone. The location is superb to enjoy the Read moresurrounding area and the road leads directly to the shops and the beach at Woolacombe. I wouldnt recommend the walk to the beach especially with children but you can ferry people easily if you prefer not to park at the front. Hide

This is an outstanding property. We were a party of 12 with three generations sharing the space. We had all the resources we needed to cook and the space to be altogether but with enough individual spaces to escape the hubbub of a large group. The panoramic views were beautiful, being able to check out the surf each morning together with the fieldRead mores opposite. Very well equipped house. Ideal for a family get together. We were a party of 10 but would have accommodated twelve people. Very well situated for a number of lovely beaches eg Woolacombe, Croyde,Saunton Sands ,Westward Ho.

Great accommodation, very well equipped, especially the kitchen! Plenty of space for the amount of people. Beds very comfortable, nice and clean. About a 25min walk down to Woolacombe opposite the house through the public footpath. Not really ideal to use the road down (especially with children) as most of the way has no footpath. Had a fantastic week, weather was a bit hit and miss but it was great having a fabulous house to come back to with plenty of space for us all to relax in. The only thing I would change is the steep driveway as this was a bit of a challenge at times.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying at Mount Rose. The instructions on arrival were clear and the host had left some welcome gifts which were very well received after a long journey! The property itself was spotless and very spacious, the furnishings in the bedrooms and lounge were very comfortable and modern and there are lovely views of thRead moree countryside and sea views from the balconies. The garden is also lovely and we made use of the BBQ during our stay. There are some lovely places for walking / to visit nearby, Woolacombe is only a 15 minute walk and Lee, Ilfracombe & Combe Martin were no more than a 20 minute drive away which made the accommodation at Mount Rose ideal for us! We would highly recommend this property for families or groups wanting to stay in North Devon. Hide
