Mount Rose is a large detached family house sleeping 12 and 2 pets. Its elevated position takes advantage of the stunning views across the valley and towards the sea.  A brisk downhill walk, or few minutes’ drive, brings you down into the village of Woolacombe with its 3 miles of award winning golden sands, magnificent surf and variety of family friendly shops, cafes and pubs. For ventures further afield, the wild expanse of the Exmoor National Park offers a dramatic and picturesque environment where flora and fauna co-exist. If you are fortunate you might well spot Exmoor ponies, herds of the famous Red Deer or even a stag.  Pretty villages in and around Exmoor are great for exploring and in many you will find quaint tea shops offering tempting refreshments.

With large gardens, balconies and a choice of indoor seating areas Mount Rose provides plenty of space for everyone.  A sloping driveway and steps lead up to the entrance on the first floor.  The main living room is on this floor to take advantage of the stunning country and sea views. Here everyone can relax on comfy sofas or open the floor-to-ceiling bi-focal doors and enjoy views from the large decked balcony. A cosy wood burner in the living room means everyone can snuggle up on cooler evenings.   There are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom with separate walk-in shower on this floor. The lower level has an open plan layout which is light and spacious with a high quality, well equipped kitchen, dining area and snug. A large dining table with seating for 12 allows everyone to enjoy meal times together.  There is also a cloakroom on this floor. The six bedrooms are shared between the first and 2nd floors. On the first floor you will find a double with patio doors to the garden and two twin bedded rooms.  The remaining bedrooms which are on the floor above comprise a king with private balcony with sea views and en-suite shower room, a further king also with private balcony and a twin bedded room with Juliet balcony overlooking the garden. This floor also has a shower room.

There’s a great choice of outside space for everyone to find their own place of relaxation be it on one of the three large balconies, the fully enclosed tiered garden at the back of the property with patio and garden furniture or the additional patio area. A garage is provided for 1 car and also has room for storing surfboards and bicycles. Additional driveway parking is available for 3 cars.

This is a perfect property and location for families or groups of friends to spend relaxed time together with the bonus of easy access to three miles of a glorious sandy, surfing beach and local facilities within walking distance.

Very well equipped house. Ideal for a family get together. We were a party of 10 but would have accommodated twelve people. Very well situated for a number of lovely beaches eg Woolacombe, Croyde,Saunton Sands ,Westward Ho.

Great accommodation, very well equipped, especially the kitchen! Plenty of space for the amount of people. Beds very comfortable, nice and clean. About a 25min walk down to Woolacombe opposite the house through the public footpath. Not really ideal to use the road down (especially with children) as most of the way has no footpath. Had a fantastic week, weather was a bit hit and miss but it was great having a fabulous house to come back to with plenty of space for us all to relax in. The only thing I would change is the steep driveway as this was a bit of a challenge at times.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying at Mount Rose. The instructions on arrival were clear and the host had left some welcome gifts which were very well received after a long journey! The property itself was spotless and very spacious, the furnishings in the bedrooms and lounge were very comfortable and modern and there are lovely views of thRead moree countryside and sea views from the balconies. The garden is also lovely and we made use of the BBQ during our stay. There are some lovely places for walking / to visit nearby, Woolacombe is only a 15 minute walk and Lee, Ilfracombe & Combe Martin were no more than a 20 minute drive away which made the accommodation at Mount Rose ideal for us! We would highly recommend this property for families or groups wanting to stay in North Devon. Hide

Lovely property with great views. Accommodated extended family of 12 with ease, owners really have thought of everything and it felt like a home from home. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

We had a lovely time staying at your place, we enjoyed the games left especially percudo! It was wet n windy so quite loud upstairs bedrooms, but obviously that couldn't be helped! We loved this property. The views over Woolacoombe were amazing. We were on holiday with extended family holiday, we found there was plenty of space to be together or separate when needed. Well equipped inside and out, and use of car charging point was a bonus. Would definitely recommend and we would book again.

Mount Rose is a large, well equipped and comfortable house suitable for extended family or group stays. We especially liked the decked outside seating area with comfy sofas and a lovely view down to the sea. The house is about 30mins walk to Woolacombe beach - although the walk back is uphill so be ready to climb back up after a beach day out! Two Read moresitting rooms and two TVs worked well for us. And the kitchen and dining area is large with everything you need to self cater, including an extra fridge and drinks chiller which were very welcome. Beware the steep driveway which we found challenging. We loved Woolacombe beach, cycling the tarka trail, a walk to see "Verity" in Ilfracombe, walking the coastal paths from Croyde to Baggy Point and to Crow Point, sailing trip fishing for Mackerel from Ilfracombe, and a day at Arlington Court National Trust. But we would recommend swerving the aquarium at Ilfracombe - it is tiny and takes less than 10 minutes to see everything in it - not worth the money in our view. Hide
