The coastal village of Corton lies just three miles from the larger seaside town of Lowestoft. Lowestoft, situated at the most easterly point in the British Isles, was developed in the mid 1800's into a fashionable Victorian seaside resort by Sir Morton Peto, the entrepreneur and civil engineer who built Nelson's Column and the Houses of Parliament. The town has two piers located on the south beach. The southerly pier, called Claremont Pier, originally served as a port of call for steamers traveling to and from London. It now provides a music venue, amusement arcade, roller-disco, fish and chip cafe and a separate, contemporary fresh fish and seafood restaurant and bar. There are many places of interest in the area including Pleasurewood Hills theme park, the East Anglia Transport Museum, Africa Alive, Oulton Broad, Belle Vue Park and Nicholas Everett Park with its pet corner and the Seagull Theatre. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has a residency at the Marina Theatre in town. There are three blue flag beaches, several good pubs and restaurants, ten-pin bowling, indoor swimming-pool and sports complex, riding school, cinema, theatre and an annual festival. The Norfolk broads and the pretty towns of Beccles and Southwold are less than 30 minutes away by car, as is the excitement of Great Yarmouth's pleasure beach and unique Hippodrome circus.

This lodge was stunning, the renovations done to a high standard, the local area was great, beach not far away and woodland walk. We can recommend The white Horse pub as very dog friendly and lovely food, Sunday lunch was lush. Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft not far away. Do be mindful of the door height in the lodge as at 6ft 4 there was some headbaRead morenging and not of the metal kind lol!! We would recommend this lodge it was beautiful. Hide

South Lodge was nicely furnished, comfortable and well equiped, with a pretty garden and garden room. We enjoyed staying there but the Lodge is situated on a busy road junction and noisy traffic is constant for almost 24hrs a day! Windows cannot be left open at night for fresh air and siting in the lovely garden is spoiled by the noise. Also, theRead more access point is close to the junction and dangerous. We were almost rammed several times. This feature of the property is not mentioned in the advertising material. The property information literature instructs visitors to leave by 9am so, to avoid an early morning rush, we decided to leave the day before. Whilst leaving, we received a text from you advising that we should leave by 10am !!!!!! Hide

An old shooting lodge that was modernised to a high standard. We loved staying there. The garden has a beautiful summerhouse with all mod cons. A very pretty garden The coast is near and shop and pub just along road. There is a lovely little outside cafe in the woods which produced good standard reasonably priced food
