This traditional stone built, spacious, detached cottage is located in a quiet location close to the centre of the popular village of Askrigg, in Wensleydale within the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. Full of character and charm, the cottage provides an ideal holiday home for a small group or family to get away from it all and enjoy the many delights of this thriving Dales village. Set over two floors, with a warming multi fuel stove in the lounge which is ideal to cosy up in front of after a busy dale exploring or cycling through the Yorkshire Dales.  This is a traditional old cottage ideal for a break whatever the time of year.  Askrigg is ideally situated in mid Wensleydale and is famous for its connection to James Heriot. The popular market town of Hawes is a short drive away,

FIRST FLOOR:
Bedroom 1 : Double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, window seat, exposed beams.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds, hanging space for clothes, chest of drawers, window seat.
Bedroom 3: Single bed, hanging space, chest of drawers, window seat.
Bathroom: Bath with shower over, washbasin, toilet.

Pets: One dog welcome.
Parking: Parking at the front of the property for 1 car & further free parking on street.
Heating: Electric night storage heaters, multi fuel stove (welcome pack of fuel provided).
Short Breaks: Short breaks accepted all year round.

Notes: Towels are provided, please note that this property does not allow smoking, Unlimited WiFi is available free of charge. Please note the feature staircase does NOT have any handrails at the bottom, care should be taken when ascending and descending the stairs, please look at the photo.

Beautiful cottage with ample space clean and comfortable in a great village location for amenities and walks both around the village and further out on the hills

The cottage is in a brilliant location, within walking distance of good pubs and food places, and also some great walks straight from the door. Askrigg is a lovely village. The cottage did feel quite run down and worn in places, however. Just feels like it needs some money spending on it, the couches have definitely seen better days. It was also prRead moreetty cold in there, even with the fire on, we were glad for the blankets provided! On the plus side, the beds and bedding were all really comfy. Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location. Two good pubs in the village. The rest of the Dales are easily accessible from here. Highly recommended

Excellent cottage in a great location. Plenty of walking from the door or using the Little White Bus for linear walks. Very comfortable beds and good shower. The outside space was very small and you would struggle to park a large car in the office road parking space whilst leaving space for the neighbours to pass and not block the foot path gate. The cottage was very well decorated and comfortable.. You didn't want for anything, ( even cling film!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The location is lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit to the Wheatsheaf at Carperby. The food was excellent and the service with a smile was exceptional.

A very good spacious cottage in a great local and central location for the Yorkshire Dales. Plenty of excellent walks form the door or not too far to travel further in the Dales.

Askrigg is a lovely village, and this cottage is well placed in the village centre, and an excellent centre for exploring the Dales. It is well appointed with comfortable beds. It wasn't the warmest of cottages, but throws were provided which helped us keep warm in the evenings, even with the log fire burning!

Really enjoyed our stay at Thornsgill Cottage. Nice town with access to great countryside and walks. Nice pubs in the town and local store. Cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed.
