Recharge your batteries in a superb couples retreat which is a delight in all seasons. Set on a private estate on the outskirts of the seaside town of Pwllheli, this impressive barn conversion is in an elevated position with lovely countryside views and has been sympathetically renovated to the highest quality and with uncompromising standards of design. It is just 1.5 miles from the town’s sandy beach and 3.5 miles from the picturesque coastal village of Llanbedrog, with its mile-long stretch of sand, adorned with colourful beach huts. For yet more stunning beaches and a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, Abersoch is 6 miles away, while the lovely National Trust house and garden of Plas yn Rhiw is 10 miles.

Inside, the cottage blends wood, glass and steel with contemporary fabrics and quality furnishings. There is underfloor heating and a mood lighting system throughout the ground floor and the bedroom. The spacious, open-plan lounge has a high, vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and stonework, solar powered automatic black out blinds on the velux windows. a tiled floor and a modern wood burner. In the hand-crafted kitchen (with views across the front garden), rustic style blends with an array of quality fittings and equipment, and there is an elegant dining table and chairs set conveniently between the two areas. An oak and glass staircase sweeps up to the stunning vaulted bedroom on the mezzanine level, with goose down pillows, a planked wall and a glass balcony overlooking the lounge and dining areas. This has the benefit of a fabulous en-suite wet room with underfloor heating.

The property is accessed via glazed French doors that lead onto the decked terrace, with oversized planters, a firepit, BBQ, wooden garden furniture with an umbrella and sun recliners. The views across the lawned garden to the undulating countryside can sometimes take in livestock and are always beautiful. You‘ll have your own small donkey to walk if you choose, a miniature goat to feed crusts to and two chunky sheep. These animals form a backdrop to some wonderful sunsets. For further indulgence, guests can enjoy something really special: the sauna on the ground floor with eucalyptus provided. An exercise bike is provided for your use, as is an outdoor storage area for bikes, sailing gear and other equipment. Parking is available for two cars

Ty Nain provided the relaxing winter break that wed hoped for, with everything there living up to its description. It was a lovey touch, much appreciated, to have the barn decorated for Christmas, and the fresh scallops were a special treat and a learning experience! We were extremely fortunate with the weather during our stay, which meant that wRead moree were able to take full advantage of the excellent location, within easy reach of the beaches and hills of the Llyn. Returning to the cosy, peaceful, barn after a chill winters day walking was a delight, as was waking up to see the playful menagerie in the front field. Weve recommended Ty Nain to friends and family as an ideal romantic getaway location from which to enjoy the dramatic landscapes of North Wales. We would love to stay there again sometime in the future. Hide

The most complete and perfect romantic stay. My partner and I loved everything the cottage had to offer. The host, Karen - Although we arrived in the late and dark hours of the day, Karen warmly welcomed us, gave us a mini-tour and was available throughout the weekend of our stay in case we had questions. Karen also left us some fresh local milRead morek, local honey and fruitcake on the kitchen counter - a lovely gesture. The property itself - very clean and maintained to an extremely high standard and perfect for a couple seeking some quiet. Lovely to look out from the window to see farm animals and a view of fields and mountains - very refreshing. Also provided were some local suggestions, books (local guides) and some board games if you prefer a quiet night in. The standout was having a sauna. Kitchen was very well maintained. Hide
