  • Charming traditional, cute as a button fisherman’s cottage, a perfect seaside bolthole
  • Cosy living room with a beautiful feature fireplace
  • The shared courtyard offers a great place for morning coffee together
Property code: OC-3AL

Situated just a 5/10 minute walk from the High Street in an elevated position on your approach to the town stands 3 Alde Lane. This cute-as-a-button former fisherman's cottage is utterly charming and ideal for a retreat to the seaside. 3 Alde Lane gives a nod to its' coastal connection, whilst still providing a comfortable and homely place to make your base on your next self-catering holiday to Suffolk.

The front door opens onto a hallway with coat hooks and straight staircase to the first floor. The sitting room, although cosy in size, has a futon style sofa bed and armchair centring around the feature fireplace and Smart TV. An open doorway from the sitting room leads out to the kitchen/diner. Newly fitted units house a good selection of crockery and wares, whilst there is also a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave tucked around the corner!

Upstairs, the cuteness continues. Being a period cottage, you may expect some low ceilings or sloping floors and the owners have configured the space effectively to provide you with a good balance of space and practicality. The master bedroom with double bed has a feature fireplace and small TV, as well as a built in wardrobe - perfect for storing suitcases. The single room is great for a child or teenager - it might be a box room but it's still very comfortable! The first floor also houses the shower room.

Outside you'll find a shared courtyard - a great place for a coffee outside, or even a barbecue! But we doubt you'll be in the cottage very long as you are so close to the beach! If you're new to Aldeburgh you can either explore the town via the roadside footpath down past the church, or down the famous town steps - both routes give a fantastic view of the sea. The high street is made up of a delightful array of independent shops and eateries; you'll be spoilt for choice!

So for a stay with a little character and history, be sure to book 3 Alde Lane. Pub: 0.1 miles, Shop: 0.2 miles, Beach: 0.3 miles

I stayed at this cute little cottage for a week covering Christmas. I had the most relaxing time. It was comfy, cosy, clean and very warm. Being able to park my car safely was a bonus. A very well equipped kitchen so was able to cook a Christmas dinner without any problems. Convenient for the beach and the town. I will definitely return.

The cottage is beautifully warm and cosy, so much so that we had to turn radiators off. It's so easy to walk into the town, and the car parking space at the church is very convenient.

Very quaint, shared rear courtyard (not acceptable esp when others had dogs and thier dogs kept running into our cottage). Very small but efficient bathroom. Cottage on busy thorough fair so noisey.BUT ideal position for walking into town and pubs.

We had a lovely time at the property. It's in a great location, very easy to get to the centre of aldeburgh. Really handy having the parking permit for the church nearby. Katy responded quickly to any questions we had. The TV wasn't the easiest to use but we managed to watch on I Player.

Good location. Heating worked well. Cottage needs a facelift in terms of quality of furnishings, thought about matching plates , decent coat hangers etc . Feels all very thrown together and done on the cheap.

We decided to go back to Aldeburgh for a short winter break again this year. No 3 Alde Lane is located on the road into town so only a short walk to beach and high street. The cottage was really clean and tidy. It felt really cosy on a cold weekend. Parking over the road in the Church car park is also a bonus. Great stay, would recommend.
