Southwold Pier Area - It is often said that nothing changes in Southwold. However, the much-acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over fifty years. It now fits in well with the painted beach huts, promenade and colourful flowerbeds. There is a shop, cafes and an alternative amusement arcade there. The selection of properties' hereabouts makes it an ideal location to stay in Southwold if you require quiet accommodation that is also close to the beach, town centre and the many footpaths across the marshes leading you to the less explored areas of the town.

An absolutely ideal venue for a couple - both in our 90s - to stay with our daughter & son-in-law. We have already booked again for next year - our third visit! In all other ways we consider 5 East Cliff to be a perfect holiday venue. What could be lovelier than sitting on the verandah in the morning sun or in the afternoon shade, looking at the sparkle on the waves almost at our feet! We are very grateful to the owners for all the thought & care they've put into this delightful property. A word of warning - don't hesitate to book. We tried to book a whole year in advance but found that all weeks in June had already gone! So - next year, July! Hide

I have been staying in 5 East Cliff for several years in a row. It is absolutely my safe place to relax, distress and unwind. The location is perfection, I love waking and going to sleep to the sound of the sea. We often sit with the front door open, watching the sun in the waves or enjoying the fantastic view from the benches in the front porch. The kitchen has everything you need for self catering and the lounge has 2 comfortable settees, dining table by the front window, tv and Internet. The bathroom is so clean and has a bath as well as overhead shower. I can not fault anything really, I just love coming here. 5 East Cliff is in an exceptional location overlooking the sea but very close to Southwold town centre. This was our first winter stay at the property, having stayed several times in the summer. We were very pleased with the quality of the heating and particularly the fire in the lounge which was very warm.

A lovely little cosy place. We visited for quite a few years. Its an asset to have an electric fire, because every year we go its always blustery (November). To switch the fire on and the owners leave us a bottle of wine. Great we sit there and dont have to rush out and shop. Just brilliant.

This was probably the best location we have ever stayed at in Southwold. The property was cosy and had everything we needed for a short stay. If we had have had better weather it would have been perfect! Would love to come back when the sun is shining!!

We had a lovely week here, only small gripe is that decor is a bit tired and doesn't live up to the high price, we got over this though and have booked again for next year - you're basically paying for the location and views.
